I pulled the peroneal tendon, and Achilles tendon in my right foot, and I did it right. I've also have bruising or bleeding at the medial collateral ligament.

Mother of God is this painful. I've been on a cane for a week now, and it is just starting to get better.

At 94, my father moved better than I do now. And to top it off, my deaf cat got under my good left foot last night, panicked as I was busy losing my balance, and tore the side of my foot open with his teeth.

Cats are great until they are not, and when they are not, they suck outright.

I've got a major hurricane coming, and I'm half crippled. The Beautiful Girl has had to do all the work to bolt us down.

FML.

Wow! That is some bad stuff!

What's the prognosis for healing (assuming that you do not undergo another cat attack)?

Art, I’m sorry to hear you’re so banged up. I wish I was closer to come help batten down the hatches.
I hope you feel well soon, my friend.

Sorry to hear this. I rolled my right ankle on uneven land two weeks ago worst than I ever had before. Heard 3 distinct "crinkle" sounds. I believe I had close to, if not the same injury as you, albeit not the Achilles also. I limped out of the place I was at and made it home and put on a walking boot our 10yr old had used. Went to the orthopedist urgent care who hooked me up with an ankle brace device that saved the weekend as Mrs. Scuba was getting an award at our alma mater the next day and I ended up walking 10,000 steps on that ankle each day with no crutches.

I took the brace off at the end the next day and I had the "horseshoe" bruise around my heel. I'm pretty sure I had a Grade 2 sprain. I did everything wrong and didn't RICE within the first 24-48 hours generally. I was able to stop using the brace after a week, which is what the doctor recommended. I've been active on it since but being careful not to roll it again while it heels. The morning is the worst, once I get walking around it swells up twice the size of my other ankle but doesn't really hurt.

Driving two-footed for 10 days was a blast.

I thought for sure I screwed up my deer season this year, but I think it will all work out as long as I walk carefully.

Stay safe and Godspeed, get well soon.

Years ago I ripped every ligament of the top of my foot so suddenly it tore pieces of bone off the top; I also broke it. The ligament injury still bothers me. If your foot starts to lose flexion, see a PT. I didn't and my foot froze such that I couldn't bend it. The followup PT was worse than the original injury.

Good luck!!!

I did my peroneal tendon a few years back. For added fun, it also stripped the SPR off my ankle bone. Did conservative treatment and PT. Didn't fix the subluxation, so the had the SPR repaired and all is now well. Only regret was I didn't have it fixed sooner.

Good luck, I feel your pain.

peroneal tendon

Confused I only found reference to a peroneal nerve in the calf of the leg.

I had an Achilles tendon rupture pushing a car in July of 2012. After surgery to piece it together and a good deal of PT and other exercise, I fully returned to duty in March of 2013, almost 9 months. For a time during this period I drove my car by gingerly pushing on the go pedal and using my left foot for the whoa pedal. Fortunately, since it happened in the course of my work, everything was covered by workman's comp.

Tendons are no joke. If it weren’t for stem cells I’d have 3 additional surgeries racked up. And unlike say a broken arm or leg, tendons take a long got damn time to heal.

Its the one that runs in the groove behind the malleus (ankle bone) on the outside of your foot.

I'm sitting here reading this with my left ankle swollen and bruised around the lateral malleolus. I went on a 5-mile hike along the La Jolla coast. At about 1 mile, walking over boulders, I slipped, fell toward a large boulder which I managed to avoid hitting by putting out my hands; but fell straight down about 18 inches. i continued the hike a it felt pretty good going up the bluff, but hiking down it got worse and worse.

I think I inverted my foot judging by the area of pain. Been using ice half-heartedly. wore a lace-up brace last night, took it off today. If it isn't better early in the week I'll see somebody.
