Have any of you gotten recently emails that on the one hand address you personally and on the other hand, read like some kind of scammer script for some snake oil "cure"? The sender offers to direct you to a youtube video extolling the virtues of some kind of super-special cure.

If ever you get anything like that, please forward it to me immediately. I've already seen it once today.

The best way to keep these half-assed con men out of here is to get me involved. Thank you.

I got one back in late January for some “AK4 CBD Pain Formula” unguent at a discount price, are you referring to that?

I think I remember reading that everyone who entered his karma got the email.

An email referring to the recipient member by their screen name, and from someone claiming to be a member of the forum. It came from out of the blue. This is unacceptable.

If you get anything like this, please forward it to me immediately.

No, that issue is resolved and was, to a degree, a simple misunderstanding. That member is welcome in this forum.

The subject line was "Fellow SigForum member from (state) here"

That would probably catch your eye. At first glance, it wouldn't appear to be SPAM.

I received one yesterday but deleted it, It smelled of a recent karma I entered that was addressed here recently for email address harvesting.

Also was hit with seven emails over a few days from "American Home Defense Foundation" which I deleted but I just checked and I now have another one. They are ending up in my spam folder but the email address had been clean until I recently entered that karma.

If you want the AHDF email I will forward it.

That has been resolved. As for the one today, it turns out to actually have been a member, and he now understands without any doubt that this type of thing is unacceptable.

The key here is "unsolicited". If a member makes an inquiry in the forum, soliciting assistance and another member thinks they can help, they can feel free- as far as I'm concerned- to contact the member soliciting assistance. But, if a member does not solicit assistance, they should be left alone. Any unsolicited contact, about which I am made aware, gets my undivided, immediate attention.
