According to the GOA (Gun Owners of America), the funding bill, on pages 2702-2213 includes some gun control restrictions.

Sections 1101-1102 are the NICS Denial Notification Act which instructs the ATF to work with local LE to launch criminal investigations into each NICS denial.

Section 1103 includes funding for the ATF to deputize local LE to enforce federal gun laws, also to appoint local govt. attorneys to prosecute as well.

The NICS denials are most often incorrect. One source said there were only 8 prosecuted over it last year, but the provision requires ALL of them to be investigated at their local level. Which is an unfunded mandate on local LEO's. IIRC that's already a hot button item from the last 20 years.

The follow on provisions will deputize local LEO's to enforce ATF regulations at the local level, and also prosecutors to follow thru with court action. More unfunded mandates.

All told, very pie in the sky requirements that many states have taken steps to prevent. It's as if the writers ignored those previous court decisions. MO is already going to defend their law preventing local LEOs from doing exactly what the bill requires, its headed to the Supreme Court. No telling how it will be decided. There are also counties passing sanctuary ordinances, and NY sheriffs signed a anti SAFE act declaration stating they wont support it right after that passed.

I would expect a few Governors to flatly declare they won't allow it, other states to pass legislation gutting the provisions, lawsuits over an unfunded mandate, and at least 40 states to emasculate it.

Those in coastal states, you are warned.

So true I am discussed with the Republicans! All of them with a couple of exceptions are swamp creatures.

Think about how much opportunity to funnel money into your pockets there is with a 1.5T spending package. Regardless of party, there is no way they are passing up a cash grab like that. I have that image of Pelosi rubbing her skeletal fists together and grinning hungrily at the state of the union. Greedy beyond comprehension.

I was disgusted to see my Sen. Cornyn voted for it. Sen. Cruz did not.

It's amazing how quietly they can spend $ trillions...
And what BS it contains.

Biden Signs New Backdoor Gun Control Into Law

Submitted by The Machine Gun Nest (TMGN).,

President Biden has signed a $1.5 Trillion spending bill that sends $13.6 Billion to Ukraine and funds the Government until September. The bill itself passed the Senate with a bipartisan 68-31 vote.

As we've reported before, the Biden administration's only way to pass gun control at all is by backdoor means. So, of course, they've hidden gun control in a massive spending bill designed to fund the Government. Hidden within this 3000-page bill were two significant pieces of gun control.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

You guys realize that all denials are investigated currently, right? That state and local agencies also work lying and buying cases already?

Seems that all of the hysteria that gets posted these days is by GOA.

How Much Waste Is In The $1.5 Trillion Spending Bill?

From Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of OpenTheBooks.com

The bill is 2,700 pages – the length of ten books.

Congress had less than one day to read the bill before they voted. President Biden has already signed off — a $1.5 trillion omnibus spending bill. Magic!

Do we really have a representative republic if our representatives don't even know what they are voting on?

Here are just a few examples of what was in the bill:

$1 million for a “farm-to-refrigerator training facility” in Pennsylvania

$2 million for George Mason University’s Center for Climate Change

$2.5 million for a museum in Vermont.

$3 million for a fisherman’s coop facility in Guam

These examples represent only four of 4,400 earmarks in the bill.

Earmarks are the 'currency of corruption in Congress.' It's legal bribery to give away member pet projects for votes.

(It took 367 pages alone just to list the earmarks!)

Republicans cheered a 6% increase in defense spending. Democrats cheered a 7% increase in social services and executive administration spending.

And, presto, you — the taxpayer — are paying for all of it.
