Very quick time of 41.98 seconds for the hill, and it sounds unique and is unreal fast.. https://x.com/fosgoodwood/status/2076329676562223181

Dumas could have prolly gotten the same record with an '89 Civic with a blown head gasket and a flat tire.

Impressive driver, impressive car, impressive performance.
Yep. I'll take the sound of an American cross-plane shaft V8 any day, and twice on Sunday. Rumble vs. E-bike.

While fast, that's not the record. Just fastest of the year. McMurtry Spéirling holds the all time record nearly 3 seconds faster. Which was bonkers. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Production version of the McMurtry was on display at Goodwood as well. Nice. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

All the AWD electric cars will be setting records soon at every track and the tech only get better. Had an all wheel drive Nissan rental with over the weekend. In sport mode through hills in the south Bay Area it was pretty wild. With modern traction control and AWD can hit the corners so hard and power out that much quicker. The electric cars are incredible. All power all the time right now. They are just soulless.

..coming to motorcyles at some point as well. Buddy says 2 engineer friends of his have made some moto EV's for race track. Even with the engineer amateurs at the helm, they almost keep up with the pros. Of course, the pros are jumping 3 bumps, and they're at 2, so they give it ground there, and make it up when they can power up. (My real name's Bill. I was feeling paranoid when I signed up:-)

Did I see where they also brought a funny car to the hill? I don't know how that even works..... Do they even have a granny gear??? You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Yep, some good sounds there. You can easily tell which driver is really pushing it. Stick shift is an art that's slowly fading away. Style points for being able to shift with an old transmission that doesn't have synchromesh. Serious style points for being able to shift without using the clutch -- and not grinding the gears into metal fragments.

I lived near Hockenheim when I was a kid and as soon as I heard the 917's it was on my bike and to a spot in the woods where we could see the track, Man they sounded good.
