If you guys have solid insurance. Check and see if hearing aids are covered. A lot of these custom protection can use your insurance as they are "Level Whatever Hearing Amplification" or something of the sort.
Buddy I train with got a pair of really sweet ears for basically the cost of his co pay. But he's got pretty solid .GOV insurance and is a firearms instructor.
