Missouri residents: Vote NO: Amendment 2 is WRONG for Missouri
Amendment 2 is WRONG for Missouri
Democrats are trying to push more Obamacare in Missouri this August. Amendment 2 is a wolf in sheep's clothing healthcare initiative that will bankrupt our state. Governor Mike Parson characterized the expansion of Medicaid as "a massive tax increase that Missourians cannot afford."
Missourians have always rejected Obamacare
D.C. politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders don't know what Missourians want. They want to push their far left agenda on us till we become a socialist nation. Just like Obamacare, Democrats in Missouri can't tell you how much this new expansion of Medicaid will cost. Are you ready to pay more taxes?
Expanding Medicaid in Missouri will cost the state millions. This will result in more funding being taken away from our schools and important infrastructure projects throughout the state, or higher taxes. In reality all of the above will happen if we allow this expansion of Obamacare in our state.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Oh, I thought this was a "Second Amendment" post vs. "Amendment 2" post. My bad.

Well, not so much in St Louis, with Kim Gardner and all.

With apologies to the rural areas which voted against it... St. Louis City and County voted overwhelmingly for it. More socialism and higher taxes will be headed our way beginning in 2021.
St. Louis County: - CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT NO. 2 - Simple Majority YES: 181,501 = 73% NO; 67,906 = 27%

Everyone I spoke to voted "no" but I'm not surprised it passed given the political ads made it sound like it was a great thing. I don't recall seeing a single ad against the Amend 2.

^^ The slick ads were so misleading. They claimed to protect rural hospitals... but they were all paid for by the big hospitals. There will be more consolidation, which means fewer rural hospitals. The rural hospitals that remain will be owned/controlled by the big hospitals.

Can we cede St. Louis to Illinois? Sure would solve problems for the rest of the state.

In all fairness to Illinois, they would be fine without Chicago. But I would be happy if the Mississippi swallowed the City. St. Louis City has been going downhill since about 1950 when the Dems took control.
