About time. Go to any gov office and there are translators for the non English speakers. Who’s paying their salaries.

nhtagmemberWe could save billions if we didn’t print every document in 350 different languages.
One country. One language.
Canada is a failure in part because they demand that to work in the federal government you must be bilingual to appease one small segment of the population.
They even changed the definition of bilingual to ensure that it was English and French. You can speak 12 languages and if one isn't French you’re not bilingual.

Yes, The Province of Quebec is not very friendly to those who speak English only. Found that out in the late 80’s, while there on a trip won for work performance by the old General Motors.

Early 1980s, wife and I were riding our motorcycles on a vacation trip from Chicago area to Nova Scotia. I pulled up next to a fellow BMW rider at a red light in Toronto, asked him for directions to a business address.
Canadian Dude: "Speak French!"
V-Tail: "OK, fuckez-vous!"

roarindanWhile waiting to turn in my plates a DMV, I watched a man of "Spanish descent" try and use his limited English vocabulary to get a vehicle registered. The clerk wasted 10 minutes trying to explain he didn't have the right paperwork, but he kept trying, maybe thinking she'd relent. She had to wait for the only Spanish speaking staff to get back from lunch to explain it to him.
I got to the next clerk and commented on that interaction. I asked the clerk what they do if there are no interpreters... she said "we rely on "google"

uvahawkI remember going to a local Social Security office in Northern Virginia after my wife passed in 2017. I had to file some paperwork in person. I was the only English speaker in a crowded waiting room. Helpfully, there was a screen hanging above the room advertising Social Security would provide translators for over 20 foreign languages. Another waste of our taxpayer dollars. An aside, my late father-in-law, a WWII combat vet and child of Polish immigrants, was a strong believer that the official language of the United States should be English. During my Air Force career, I never ran into an airman who could not speak fluent English.
