Moderately severe thread drift...

For those who've installed the diy secoority systems that can be accessed by your cell phones, can you also bring it up on the tv to view? If so, how difficult is that to do for yourself?

For myself it was easier than expected.
The modem was the only snag.
I have the hard line feed going to a TV in our gym so I can keep an eye on things while I have headphones on.
Hiding the DVR was what took a bit of time as I didn't want it to be taken.

Yep!

Only time I am not packing is when I am in bed, and it laying on the night stand, less than arm's reach.

Now if I could get the mrs to accept the idea that she needs to do so as well. But any further discussion with her would be a waste of breath.

Men with previous criminal ties to area charged in Alford murder

https://www.rrspin.com/roanoke...n-alford-murder.html
Munn has a lengthy criminal record in Warren County, according to state Department of Public Safety records.

His past record includes numerous counts of larceny, damaging telecommunication wires and a count of burning personal property, a charge which dates back to 2003.

Kearney has a criminal record which includes convictions in Halifax, Nash and Warren, DPS records show.

Records also show he goes by the name Dervan A. Brown.

He has served time for second-degree kidnapping, assault, larceny and other counts.

Waters said the past records of the men “are not reflective of what has happened” in Friday’s case.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Chuck Hasty said the police department received information today of Kearney’s whereabouts. The police department used surveillance, patrol officers, City County Drug Task Force agents and detectives to affect Kearney’s arrest around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Smith Church Road and Highway 158.

Kearney had no comment as he was escorted from the Roanoke Rapids Police Department to a waiting Warren County Sheriff’s Office patrol car.

Warren County Lieutenant Michael Wells, who with Roanoke Rapids Captain Bobby Martin escorted Kearney to his car, declined comment.

Both men, Waters said, were arrested following vehicle stops.

Waters said Mr. Alford continues to recover from the injuries he sustained in the house fire. “With what he’s went through, he’s helped us as much as he could.”

North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Mike Benning gave “sincere condolences” to family and friends of the Alfords, some who gathered at the fire station. “The family exhibited extreme courage and strength through this event.”

He commended the effort law enforcement put forth in the case. “If it wasn’t for the effort, we would not have been as successful as we have been.”

Williams said agencies throughout the region and state as well as Virginia aided in the investigation. “These guys helped us tremendously.”

One friend and one family member of the Alfords declined comment following the briefing.

Waters expects Kearney and Munn to have their first appearances in Warren County District Court next Wednesday.

This is an older post that is still relevant today. Look how isolated and peaceful looking this home seems to be. Just goes to show you that it can happen anywhere, any time. Click on the link to see the video that shows how isolated this property is.

Sheriff shares details after beloved Virginia teacher killed in 'random' home invasion

https://www.wtvr.com/news/loca...-invasion-aug-8-2025

Country music artist Spencer Hatcher, his father Michael Hatcher, and Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson addressed the violent murder of Spencer's mother, Holly Hatcher, a beloved teacher and the death of the man responsible for the crime.

The suspect, identified as Kevin Moses Walker, 41, of Pikesville, Maryland, was killed during the incident after Michael Hatcher retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and fired a single shot to stop the attack.

"This is a highly unusual, apparently completely random [attack] with an individual with no known history of violent behavior of any kind, or even criminal behavior of any kind," Sheriff Hutcheson said.

According to the investigation, Walker rented a campsite at Endless Caverns, in New Market, Virginia, on August 1 at 2:22 p.m. and took a tour of the caverns at 3 p.m.

Later that day, at 5:24 p.m., he purchased a sleeping bag and a large knife at the Timberville Walmart, about seven miles from the caverns.

Sheriff shares details after beloved Virginia teacher killed in 'random' home invasion

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. — Country music artist Spencer Hatcher, his father Michael Hatcher, and Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson addressed the violent murder of Spencer's mother, Holly Hatcher, a beloved teacher and the death of the man responsible for the crime.

In a joint video statement, Hutcheson and the Hatcher family shared a timeline of events leading up to the violent attack that claimed the life of 62-year-old Holly, and left her 65-year-old husband, Michael, injured.

The following morning, Virginia State Police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Endless Caverns Road.

They discovered the store at Endless Caverns had been broken into, with damage consistent with being rammed by a vehicle.

Authorities determined Walker had entered both the store and the caverns, though nothing was stolen.

Despite efforts to locate Walker using patrol vehicles and a drone, he wasn't found.

Felony warrants were obtained for him at that time.

"There was no indication of any violence or potential for any violence from the offender that the Virginia State Police became aware of throughout that investigation," Hutcheson said.

The next call authorities received was at 11:58 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, when Michael Hatcher reported the home invasion.

Deputies found him outside his residence with visible injuries. Walker was found deceased in the driveway, and Holly Hatcher was discovered inside the home with fatal stab wounds.

"There's going to be questions that will never be answered, but all I can tell you is we've cried, we've hurt, and we've hugged, and we have found more love than we have ever known has existed between us, and between you," Michael Hatcher said in the staement.

Spencer Hatcher, the couple's son, emphasized that the family wanted to address only confirmed facts amid speculation about the incident.
