1) Yes - US Citizen to Vote - This is already the law, not sure why we need another one. 2) No - Forced wage increases - increases Min Wage - A John Morgan Enterprises program 3) No - Override Parties - Nope, allows open primary for all voters. 4) Yes - Second Vote - This effectively shuts down John Morgans D party machine from posting new anti conservative laws on the books. 5) Yes - Save Homes - Allows homeowners one extra year to transfer tax benefits. 6) Yes - Transfer Homestead - Another Vet benefit extending the Homestead on a property for Veterans discounts to the spouse.

There is a big difference in being a legal citizen of the USA and being here legally. I have to agree with BD, because the alternative will have millions on millions of non USA citizens determining local political positions.
That’s not the alternative. That’s the current reality, and the way it’s been for decades. I have yet to see any data that proves that letting legal US residents voting in local elections has somehow destroyed democracy, made this a worse place, or overridden the votes of US citizens.
It’s a moot point anyway because no way will it get the 60% needed to pass.

Clearly you have a bias for your mom, I get that. Your argument is dumb as hell though. Citizens vote. Period. To let all non citizens vote makes no sense whatsoever. If you want the right to vote, become a citizen. To pretend that local elections don’t matter so it’s ok for residents to vote is nonsensical. They might not get the required votes, but they should.

I get it, it's important to you and your mom, and hope you understand I wasn't implying she didn't contribute in a positive way to the country.
The point is citizen vs non citizen, that's where the line is drawn regarding voting in any election.
The fear is that once they open up the process locally, the left won't stop until they have every swinging johnson voting, citizen, legal, illegal, or not, fully registered to vote in state and federal elections...

Agreed. They came here for a reason then they try to change FL into the place they just left. When I see the NJ/NY plates, I just cringe.

There’s a billboard in my area that says “Welcome to Florida. Don’t turn heaven into hell. Vote Republican in November.”
I’m sure the message is directed to the NY/NJ/NE crowd who are flowing in.

I have NO idea why they flee NJ,NY etc. because of high taxes, high cost of living and other things, then want to vote democrat here, since they're the people that institute those things.......The best is if you happen to talk to one of them at a restaurant, grocery store, etc. They have to proudly tell you they're from NY without even asking. My response "Then why are you here, if NY is so great"......They tend to get pissed......

Because they don't correlate the problems in the area they left with political parties. Taxes are high because NY is expensive, property is worth more, lots more people per sq block, higher demand, nothing to do with their political party....

I almost got tripped up. I thought the constitutional amendments were last on the ballot, but right after them was a county measure for the 1% sales tax.
This is the ballot from my county, Santa Rosa. Each election cycle I ask an attorney friend who is connected (past president of the Florida Bar) if there are any judges up for retention vote that I should vote no on. He said Scott Maker (1st District Court of Appeal). Makar appears on ballots in North Florida counties only. This message has been edited. Last edited by: cne32507,

I've said for years that if you transplant to Florida, there should be a two year acclamation period wherein you do not vote in state or local elections. Maybe if they lived here for a bit and learned 'why' we opt to live here, they'd be a bit more prudent in their voting when they do get a chance to vote.
