This is a very useful feature. It bugs the heck out of me that other search engines don't have this feature, AND that so many articles are not dated. Ok, next stupid question... Can someone help me understand the difference between a BROWSER and a SEARCH ENGINE ? In layman's terms, please. | |||

A browser is a program that lets you access sites and files on the internet. (Examples: Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.) A search engine is a site system that helps the user find a key word, expression, picture, etc. in that system's database of the internet. They are accessed via a browser. (Examples: Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo, StartPage, etc.) And a mail client is a program that allows you to exchange electronic mail with others. And, in many cases, access topical newsgroups to read. (Examples: Thunderbird, Opera Mail, Microsoft Outlook, Mailbird Pro, Inky, etc.) That help? A browser is a tool for viewing web pages. For example, whatever you are using to view SIGforum. A search engine is a program, typically hosted as a website, for finding information on the internet.
