Will you sign our petitions to help us restore the NRA?
We're a group of NRA members who are concerned about the future of the NRA. We're campaigning to get on the ballot for the February 2026 NRA Board of Directors election. In order to get on the ballot, each of us needs to gather nearly 400 signatures on our nomination petitions. You are eligible to sign our petitions if you are an NRA voting member (an NRA voting member is an NRA Life Member or a regular member for the last five years).

Our group includes experienced Second Amendment activists, attorneys, business executives, financial experts, military veterans, competitive shooters and respected law enforcement leaders.

Our plan for restoring the NRA:

Reform: Reform, modernize and streamline NRA’s business and financial operations to ensure transparency, accountability, integrity and cost effectiveness.
Restore: Restore and reinforce NRA’s position of leadership in Second Amendment Advocacy in the White House, in Congress, in State Legislatures and the Courts.
Repair: Repair and rebuild NRA’s relationship with our members, our clubs, our donors, the industry, Congress and the public at-large.
Revive: Revive and reinvigorate the firearms education, training, competitive shooting and shooting range protection programs and services our members want, need, deserve and expect.
Rebuild: Rebuild and strengthen NRA-ILA, Membership and General Operations divisions, including Competitions, Education & Training, and our network of NRA grassroots Clubs and State Associations.

Please go to our PETITION WEBSITE to learn more about us and to sign our petitions to help us get on the ballot for the 2026 NRA Board election.

I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888

Until the "Friends of Wayne" are completely purged from NRA and when the giant board of directors (organizational bloat) gets pared down to an understandable level, I wont do a lot of voting. I will stay a member of NRA. The OP seems to have scant interest in Sig Forum except to push for NRA.

The plan as described above is actually a list of complaints about the present. As such, it is not a plan, but “what” is considered necessary.

Having identified areas of concern, it would be helpful to learn “how” each would be addressed.

For example, how would new board members reform finances? Open the books to public scrutiny? Hire different auditors? Do a forensic audit and highlight issues? Fire the CFO?

Of course the last election slate did not give us any of this. All we were told was existing board members were not deserving, vote new.

I agree, but how exactly is that going to happen? The only way the board gets "paired down" is for them to vote to cut their own numbers? No? Will they do that? Is there any hope left at all for the NRA?

When the number of board members is cut by at least 75%, call me. Until then, leave me be.

When I realized all the money I my poor, broke ass sent to the NRA was used to SPAM, physically mail, and robo-call me relentlessly for more money, and to see the gross misuse of funds donated by others and very little actual representing that accomplished anything for my fellow Americans, put me down for a "No".

That little I have, goes towards working locally with individuals to strengthen themselves and understand how they should clean their rifle, and well regulate themselves.

That does more for all freemen than all the NRA wasteful efforts.

The NRA did this to themselves.

Prove me wrong.

I’ll stay a member, but I’m not signing anything until the board is cut way down. Tired of pouring money into an outfit that just wastes it.

I'll stick with the local gun rights associations

In GA it's GA2A formerly known as Georgia Carry, they have been very effective with carry laws

Second Amendment Foundation is doing a LOT more with court cases to help us. Now they are going to challege NFA in its entirety because without a tax the justification for it's existence is void.

NRA behaves like RHINO's in Congress. They talk a lot and put up some fuss against the constant move leftward, but they don't really do much that has any effect, except get paid for being "the opposition".

Given my location, my support goes to the California Rifle & Pistol Association, who are not just local, but much more engaged with pressing and relevant anti-gun legislation. NRA at one time was formidable but, the fight is at the state level and NRA has abandon California.

Nope. I let my membership expire and have no plans to revive it.
If the NRA keeps “compromising” with RINOs & dems (the uniparty) we will be left with nothing.

The board is a ridiculous size. They could get by with one board member covering each time zone. It’s not like they do a hell of a lot anyway.
“When is the next meeting so we can plan another meeting? Steaks are on the membership.”

SAF, GOA, CCRKBA all actually DO SOMETHING and get results!

I no longer support the NRA and have no plans to ever support them in any way ever again.
They have wasted to much money on themselves with no benefits to the paying members.

Yep, same reasons. I dropped the NRA a while back and switched over to SAF.

It's a worthy goal.
Time for the NRA to rise from the ashes to actually promote the second amendment without enriching the management beyond reason.
