I interested enough to go see it and have cash ready to transfer.

You should be able to figure out if he's telling the truth when you visit, and if he's had the car a long time and now selling it for those reasons he might very well feel some emotional attachment.

Lots of old cars are bought by and sold by people with some kind of family history or attachment to them.

Mecum auctions Kissimmee results show several 67's, different engine, trim, color options from a Yenko to a base Convertible in really rough shape,

Price Range is from $500K to $27K. Most in the range of what you describe are in the mid 30's.

I feel pretty sure the guy is legit. I think he may have dropped a tear or two while talking to me about saying goodbye to Lola. He said he named her Lola cuz he always wanted to date a Latin woman but never did so he teases his wife about how he's gonna go get hot and heavy with Lola. LoL

He's had it for over 25yrs. His house was in the background in the video. The house and land seemed well cared for but modest. He isn't a wealthy guy that just bought one at a premium recently. Seems like a very prideful, gentle and humble man that loved the car as his prized possession and it was the thing that was his and only his. He appeared to be in his early 70's and said the wife's meds are just too expensive so the car has to go so they can maintain their home and health. Really sucks to talk to a guy at this stage of his life and his only choice is to sell his last pleasure to pay for meds and fucking taxes on a house he paid off forever ago. Makes you question this thing we call the American Dream a bit.

Mecum is about 7-8 miles from my home. I go there alot, but I've never bought a car from their auction. If this deal doesn't go right I'll likely start looking there.

Yeah Mecum is a massive car show with lots of people with lots of money buying things...

You can get some deals early in the auction, generally what I've seen is you can buy a car for less than what someone has put into it to get it to the condition it's in.

We go every year generally on the Last Saturday

If it looks and drives good, paperwork is good and you like it, then maybe buying it will help the man and his wife out, you both win...

Good luck and post up some pictures if you get it...

My dream Camaro is a 67 RS, 396 four speed in Plum Mist (at least that’s what Pontiac called that color, wish my 67 Pontiac 2+2 was) with tilt wheel and AM-FM radio.

A friend has a 68 Z-28, originally blue with white stripes and factory black vinyl top. Got repainted by his father in a trendy 90’s color, think in the future it’s going back factory. I’m trying to talk him into the vinyl top too.

Another friend in the early 70’s had a black Z-28, red nose stripe and four speed. Young kid beat the snot out of it and got rid of it in a moment of weakness and still regrets it today.

Closest I got to owning a Camaro was in ‘73,a 69 SS, orange, black vinyl top. 350 automatic, rally wheels, A/C, AM FM Stereo, orange and black houndstooth seats. Friend’s wife got it as a H.S.graduation. She let me have the car for the weekend, when I took it back on Sunday and told, her I’d take it she was about in tears and said “a deal’s a deal but I really want to keep it”

I couldn’t do that so I said “No, it’s yours” She and her husband split a few months later, don’t know whatever happened to the 69 as I’d have bought if she ever finally decided to part with it.

396 or 383 stroker was what I really had in mind when I started looking.

I really don't know much about that Tremec 5 speed. It's fairly new....came out about four years ago? What I have seen is that it's getting more and more in demand and seems to be a really solid built unit. They are not cheap by a long shot.

Is that 350 stock? re-built in any fashion? If it's just a regular factory issued unit it will have little to no appeal to a future buyer. I'm just saying from experience. On the other hand if it's been really beefed up with quality parts..you are talking about a different animal now and would mate well with that transmission.

I any case, that is a great car regardless, and I know you will enjoy it!!

While we love cars and driving them, we have never really been much on flippers. We’re more a pick what we love and keep it forever family.

In 2013 through 2015 we were actively debating whether to buy a 69 Z28 or a Porsche Cayman. One was going to be a stable asset that we would use occasionally, and the other we thought we would use closer to daily and enjoy more often.

Ultimately, we decided on the Porsche, but threads like this make me really question if that was the perfect choice.

Yeah, I've had a number of muscle cars over the years I truly regret selling. We moved this 65 Corvette to Missouri with us when we moved here. A local dealer bugged me so much to buy it I finally just said ok. Really stupid. Oh well, here she is.

Oh, yes, yes, I know that is a 67 stinger hood...but I just couldn't resist. Smile

That 350 engine was completely gone thru. High performance Edelbrock manifold and Carb and side exhaust pipes. High performance heads, etc. The custom shop said she dynoed at a little over 375 hp. She was scary fast and sounded great.

The entire engine has been rebuilt and updated. He did it when he installed the Tremec. Headers, cam, riser, Demon carb and all new grounds and stainless hose covers, bigger alternator, all aluminum radiator and 2 big electronic fans and vintage a/c was installed too. He said its about 350-375 hp now. This is what interests me the most regarding the car. Being able to drive on the freeway without overheating and at 80mph for long cruises is great. Big block are nice, but sometimes you don't want a dragon. It's nice to have a more tame ride and cruise when you want. I think I'll get the best of both works and if not I'll just stroke it myself.

IT'S DONE! I found her. 1968 triple black vert. GM crate engine ZZ4 350 stroked to a 383 with only 5k miles on it, built 700R4, new top and new leather interior, adjustable air suspension, long tube headers, dyno tested with docs showing 458 hp and 442 torque rating at 5200 rpm. VERY clean in and out.

I can't believe I never learned how to add pics after all these years of being here. I'll figure it out and get some up today. The car is AWESOME!!!!

Holley Dominator intake and Brawler carb, nice cam but not over the top. 3.73 rear, 10" diff, air shocks have connector in the trunk that is mounted. radio is bluetooth, but has the classic look, kept the GM staple shifter to also keep the classic look. I love every single mod on the car. My buddy used to own an a/c install company so he will put Classic Air in over a few beers next weekend. That will save me $1500-$2000 on the install alone. Other than that, I found the high back seats with headrests locally so I'm going to pick those up over the weekend and install those and that's about it.

I wouldn’t do that. Keep the classic look. I had the opportunity to change the ones out in my Mustang awhile back and passed. It looks much better with the low back seats, especially with the convertible.

Nice looking ride BTW!
