I was standing in line at the grocery store getting the last few things I need for Christmas dinner. Two older ladies in front of me were chatting and one looked at me several times and then said to me and her friend "I'm sorry to stare but you look just like her son". I replied "He must be quite the handsome feller." The other lady with a grin said "No, he's as ugly as homemade sin. But it's my recipe so I guess it's ok." She then gave me a hug and said "I'm just kidding love, you have a merry Christmas". You gotta watch out for those nice old ladies. _____________________________________________ I may be a bad person, but at least I use my turn signal.

That's excellent karma! A good day for everyone. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation." Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

Ouch! "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do. |
Just the opposite for me. Had a lady ask where I grew up as I looked exactly just like somebody she knew. Said I felt sorry for the poor guy if he looks like me. She laughed and said no,he is real nice guy and looked like he could be my identical twin. Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

That’s funny. Several years ago my best friend since we were 3 who grew up in the house next door to me called me and told me he talked to my mom at Costco. Except it wasn’t my mom. He said he was talking for a good ten minutes and even though she had the same Minnesota accent things started to not add up and then one of her kids came up to her and he realized it wasn’t her. Haha. He said she looked and sounded exactly like her and if it wasn’t for her kid walking up he wouldn’t have believed it.
