I used to work with the Milwaukee mag drill a lot. Nice tool. I'd definitely rent it and as APB said, I don't think it would cost a lot to rent.

I use a CRC cutting oil in an aerosol can. It’s available at harbor freight and being a spray can I can give the cutters a little squirt from a few inches away even when drilling overhead.

The Vevor is supposed to be here tomorrow. Not sure it comes with cutters, but I have a small set on order as well.

Rental locally was $87/day, I'm into the Vevor for $67 after all is said and done and I get to keep it.

Do I NEED it? Nope. Don't NEED two 9mms or three .45's either. What's yer point?

The bit's aren't much, about $30 for a 5/8" one last I looked.
Mag drills are worth their weight in gold when you have to make a lot of holes.

Much better than hanging on for dear life with a large drill that will twist you up in a second and keep on spinning as it winds down.
Like the one shop replacing frame rails and making holes for everything, forklift right next to it so you can push off of it.

For cooling fluid I just use whatever is in the barrel for the bandsaw and put it in a spray bottle.
For lots of holes I put it in a garden sprayer.

Came yesterday. Very fast via Home Depot's "deliver to home" service.

Seems decent, only complaint is the Jacobs-style chuck for twist drills is crap. But I expected that and if I find myself using twist drills a lot (which I suspect will be the case) I'll spend some money on a better chuck.

Also ordered a Morse Taper to Weldon Chuck adapter so I can use the annular cutters in my drill press.

Cutters on order as well, mid-grade set to get started. As I identify which sizes I'll use, I'll order good individual cutters. It's always the tooling that gets ya...
