Normally she's quite involved in Halloween, but she was too involved in her Marine Veteran father's funeral this weekend to give out candy. She put a note on the door saying she couldn't due to a family funeral, and some kids left candy packages forming a happy face with a glow stick for a smile, and another forming a heart. She ate the candy while crying the whole time.

It is good to hear there are still some kids raised with respect for others. I am sorry for your friend’s loss.

I have tears in my eyes. Sorry for your friends loss.

Also, my heart was lifted with the kindness.

I hate to hear about her loss but it sounds like there are some really good kids out there. It's good to hear about kids with parents who taught them to be considerate of others and putting someone else first.

That's a cool story I'll share with the wife.

This is the second uplifting Halloween story regarding youth that has made me happy and just a little more optimistic about our future. Very nice to hear this.

Yes, we do have a lot of truly great kids in this country!! Hopefully, in the near future the number of them will only increase by a couple magnitudes!!

We seldom get any Trick or Treaters here because the house is so far from the street, and we have no lights on the driveway.
