THE HOLIDAYS

If you were in Italy for the New Year, doing as the Romans, and wished the best of luck for the coming year, you might want to wear this.

Correct! In medievel times, a red drape was believed to protect one's family jewels from the spells of witches. Had to be true, who could make up something like that?

Arnold Schwarzenegger used this film's gun slinger character as the basis of his performance in The Terminator.

correct! Yul Brynner as ex machina. Must have slipped my mind, but Michael Crichton directed it.

The board is yours.

THE HOLIDAYS

Good luck in Spain would entail eating 12 of these within the first 12 seconds of the New Year.

Who was the first winner of the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions?

Google says Terry Thompson, while Art Fleming was host.

I was 2. Mom did great. $9K and a set of encyclopedias in 1964.

After she went back the second time, and had to buy a new dress, my dad said words to the effect that “this is costing us a lot”. Mom told him she just won more the prior day than he made the past few months.

25 HP is correct. My JD mower has a Kawasaki gas engine that is rated at 25 HP. We’ve come a long way.
