Charges against four California dentists -- including three brothers -- accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman at a Las Vegas Strip resort were dropped after cellphone video showed the allegations were "completely fabricated," one of the men's attorney said. Prosecutors dropped the charges against Poria Edalat, 30, Saman Edalat, 39, Sina Edalat, 34, and Ali Badkoobehi, 30, after the defendants presented the video to the district attorney’s office, KVVU-TV reported. An unnamed woman told security at the Wynn Las Vegas resort she was sexually assaulted in a suite while intoxicated. Lawyers for the four dentists maintained all along the allegations were false. They predicted in August the case would be dropped once prosecutors reviewed the video evidence. "After a review of the facts of the case, it was clear the allegations were completely fabricated," Robert Draskovich, Badkoobehi’s attorney, said in a statement. "The evidence confirmed the men's innocence, and the state has cleared them of all charges." The dentists were already free on their own recognizance and none of them attended Monday’s hearing. The three Edalat brothers released a statement following the hearing. "We are so grateful to the justice system for recognizing that we were the victims in this case," the statement said. "We knew when the facts came out that the vicious allegations would be exposed as lies and our good names would be cleared. We want to thank our families, friends and lawyers for sticking by us through this horrific ordeal." The statement added: "At this sensitive moment in our history, we believe that women should be respected and heard and believed. But as this case shows, it is also important to keep a critical eye on those willing to use the (#MeToo) movement for their own selfish motives and remember that innocent until proven guilty is one of our country's bedrock principles." Probably a time stamp and or obviously verifiable event or locale putting them well away from the scene of the alleged assault. ______________________________________________ Aeronautics confers beauty and grandeur, combining art and science for those who devote themselves to it. . . . A decade or so ago, it came out that several Dallas Cowboy players had gone together on a home (nicknamed White House) where they could bring mistresses/groupies for carnal activities. Wired with security cameras and audio, and apparently they followed legal advice on getting the girl to speak as to why she was there before retiring to the bedroom. I really hope charges were brought up on the female. We need to start treating women like this the same if it were the man on trial for rape. All of this only minimizes real women being harmed.

A prosecutor once told me that justice is a pendulum. It works best when centered. And innocent until proven guilty is the center. The pendulum has swung too far in favor of accusations of sexual assault and domestic violence. When a woman can make a verbal statement without supporting witnesses or evidence and get a man locked up, things have gone too far. And to make these types of unsupported accusations in a public forum or in the media should be illegal. And yes, I believe that in years past, police often minimized or downplayed these claims and that need fixing. But we have gone too far with the fix. Yet, not one word with regard to charges. I know that it's been said in this thread, but there is verifiable evidence that a woman filed a false complaint against 4 guys in clear violation of NRS 207.280 (probably in hopes of extorting money). I looked up the laws in NV, and it seems that the penalty is: Penalties The Las Vegas offense of false reporting of a crime is a misdemeanor in Nevada. The sentence for a misdemeanor in Nevada includes a punishment of: up to 6 months in jail, and/or up to $1,000 in fines The perpetrator should be subjected to the same sentence that the falsely accused would have gotten. In this case, since there were 4 falsely accused, there would be 4 convictions against the one that lied! We have seen over and over, that there is a subset of society that plays games with people's lives. The false claims of rape, abuse, racism, etc., have lead to good people losing everything. Their friends, families, and careers can disappear in an instant, all because someone wanted to make some shit up knowing fully that even if they were caught in their lie, nothing would happen (oh, I guess I mis-remembered. Here is a story about the arrest in early August.

interesting that they refer to their 'good names' being restored i don't know that having group sex with (likely) a hooker and video recording the event says much about their 'good names' i suppose i am glad that they aren't going to prison for rape which did not occur but 'good names' ? that's pretty funny verbiage ----------------------------------------- Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
