It is a ZL1 without the 1LE option I personally like the small wing. It has the 6.2 supercharged engine with 650Hp The transmission is the 10 speed automatic with paddle shifters. The gearing is 3.73 which is nice with the 10 speed auto. It does have the performance and data recording option. The color is vivid orange.

Yes they are/were. I was drooling over dark blue 68 over the weekend at a car show. Looked like it just came off the showroom floor. Gorgeous car.

I don’t see any appeal to an electric Camaro. If that’s how it comes back I almost hope it doesn’t come back at all. Now a renewable fuel ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Camaro would be cool if those who have not given up on renewable fuels & ICE engines can make a compelling case. Fingers crossed. There are some DAMN smart people working on this as I type this.
I hate to sound negative but looking at the latest Mustang body style it might as well be dead too. WTF Ford!?!?!?!

Different, imagine the hacking being done to change the sound output....

Every car maker does this, then they re-release in 2-3 years. I’m sure it’s their way to bridge a redesign without leaving old cars on the lot.

No real hacking needed for most of them. The cars using actual speakers have choices for you or you can actually download different sounds. Kind of weird hearing a Tesla that sounds like a cammed Helcat.

If there is another it will be a hybrid and automatic only. Pure 100% gas, and 6MT, this is it. A friend got his ‘24 order in and the car was just built. He thinks it will deliver to his dealer in the next few weeks. This is the last dance for 6MT performance cars. Next will be hybrids and EV’s only.

Sounds like me. My first car was a 1980 Z/28. I got a full time job after high school and saved my pennies until I found a near perfect 1969 RS/SS with the Muncie 4speed in electric blue and the cowl induction hood.

Sorry to hear the Camaro production will end. Beautifully designed cars that have get-up-and-go. Current Mustangs look like fat turtles.

BEAUTIFUL pic, smschulz!!! There is NOTHING like the classic lines on a Camaro SS!! Right up there with the Nova SS that my buddy restored at one point.

Look at the bright side, The Camaro was the only reason Ford decided against killing the Mustang.
Back in the day, they thought everybody would want a Probe instead.

OP, that's a great looking Camaro. I've always been a fan. I had a '68 as a first car, a '69SS and 3 '73s one of which was a Z28. Then I got into Corvettes. Sad to see the Camaro go for sure.

Very nice Camaro. I've only owned one, bought new in Anniston Alabama, 1968 327 4 speed. Red with red interior. Traded for an IH Scout to take to Germany.

To the OP that is a beauty... Color reminds me of my 1971 Chevy Nova bought off show room floor that had a big sign on windsheild that said "NO WARRANTY".. Was a special order that was buyer backed out of the deal prior to delivery ... Color was a "copper bronze".. body-badged , limited edition high back bucket seats, Muncie 4speed, 4:11 positrac rear axle, factory high performance 396 block w/twin Holly 650 double pumper carbs... .... Let us just say it was a street sleeper. ...When asked at insurance agent just said manual transmission and a V8 motor. Only slightly lied but for my the benifit of my wallet............. drill sgt.

Sad to see them go.
I had a ‘67 SS RS in ‘78. A rod pushed through the side of the original engine block on Christmas morning…. I still wish I never sold it. One of those stupid moments for sure. This is not mine but a spitting image of it.

I thought I'd be more moved by this news. Back in my 20s I had a '68 Firebird 400 which is basically the same car as the Camaro. I remember seeing them around in various stages of restoration and decay. I liked them. I really wanted a '69 RS/SS Pacecar. They were cool to me as a young man. The IROC Zs turned me on though today I can't figure out why. They look so.....80's. One of my girlfriends back then had an 85 Corvette. It was fun but I thought it would be faster. My Firebird was more brutal than her Corvette. I think the muscle cars of the 80's were neutered.
Skip to the modern Camaro. When these were introduced, I liked the nod to the 60's style blended with modern features but never did develop the same excitement. This is probably more due to my place in life now. I'm more excited by 1 ton diesel trucks and AMG SL class Mercedes than modern muscle cars. Even the Mustang with it's barbaric exhaust note and scalded cat acceleration just don't have the same call to me. So when they cease production of the Camaro I'm not as bothered as I once would have been.

You are forgetting this is GM here. I expect that they will piss all over the Camaro nameplate and slap it on a 4 door, 3 row, EV Suv with a purported 0-60 time of 5 seconds and a range of 400 miles. BTW, put a trailer on that "Camaro" and just like the F150 electric you won't be able to get out of your home state before you have to stop and charge it.
BTW, I fully expect that about 1 year to 6 months before the Great Power Outage of 2028 they will pass laws limiting the maximum amperage draw on an EV and those 0-60 times will vanish, it will take about 1/2 minute to get up to 60. Note, when that law is passed it will go into effect immediately. Because all it takes is an update to the software in the EV and that update can be done as part of the charging cycle.
