jeeperxdThe end of the Camaro
GM announced the end of the Camaro in January 2024
with a very limited production run that most probably wont get due to to allocations. I figured it was time to get one so here it is.2023 ZL1

OrgussI'm Ford for life, but the later variants of the Camaro have been sexy.

Lucky for you the 2024 mustang looks like a Camero.

bob rambergMy first car was a '77 Z28. Always been a Camaro fan since I saw that green '68 convertible with white rally strips drive by the playground in grade school.

HRKNice purchase, SIL has one, not the ZL model, drives great but it's a PIA to get in and out of, he's 6 ft 5 and I don't know how he fits but he does.
Last Camaro I had was a 77 Type LT, drove it in high school for a year they call it Firethorn Red but it was more of a "burnt orange" color,

I've thought the same thing and hate it for that very reason.

Expert308I too have always been a Ford guy, never even sat in a Camaro. But yeah, this truly qualifies as an "End of an era" happening. Kind of sad, actually.

tsmccullMy father gave me his ‘67 Camaro when I graduated college. Drove it for years until I moved to Florida. No AC and black seats relegated it to winter-only driving there after many summer seat searing experiences!

BlackmoreNo more Ca-machos as we Ford guys called them.

Glynn863Again? Oh no. Well, anyway.
The Camaro used to be a "working man's car", but then some at GM decided to elevate the higher trim models (SS, Z-28, etc.) to Corvette status, in a way.
My first Camaro was a 1981 Z-28 that was de-smogged and had a 327ci/350HP camshaft, headers, tuned Q-jet, and shift kit in the TH350. Those mods made it pretty quick, and the "Air Induction" hood was cool. Downsides to that car were being black paint and interior and t-tops; I moved to Arizona for a short while. My next car was white.
Second Camaro was a 1991 Z-28 with the 350CI L98 Corvette engine. That car was really fast. It had been a demo and had all the go-fast goodies on it and best of all, no t-tops. "Victory Red" with a gray interior. Unfortunately, someone tried to steal it and damaged the interior some. Traded it in for a 4-door S-10 Blazer when we started having kids.
Third (and current) Camaro is a 1968 Rally Sport (hideaway headlights) that is currently disassembled and in storage. Original "LeMans Blue" 327ci / 4 speed car. I plan to build the engine closely to Z-28 302ci specs. I have a Muncie M20 and 12 bolt to go in the car. I already have most of the parts to restore it, just still working and have no time right now.

MRBTXYou know you've got to show us the inside and make a sound clip of that sweet engine.

smschulzKinda sad but the real old school Camaro's were something else.

HRKI would not be surprised to see it resurrected in a few years as a supercar EV Camaro, similar to Dodge's Challenger.

1s1kGood choice. That will be a collector car in the future. Great handling, great brakes and big power = tons of fun to drive.

Every time my 13 year old sees a Camaro, he points it out by saying, “Look Dad, it’s the new Mustang!”

So far I really like it I had a Viper but could no longer get in and out of it.

1967GoatNice, but we need more info! I'm not a Camaro guy so I had to look up what a ZL1 was. Is it the ZL1 1LE? 6.2L supercharged V8?
Manual or automatic? Other interesting things? Inquiring minds want (need) to know!
Looks like a great/different color!

sigspecopsThat's sad. I got a 78 Camaro when I was 15. At 18 it was a 1980 Z28, then a 67 convertible two years later. I sold that one a few years later. Then, no more Camaros.
