Not dress, but casual, light weight, cool. Something that is durable, and won't break the bank. Preferably not cotton.

GustoferMerino wool year 'round here. They aren't cheap, but good ones last and they are worth it.

mrvmaxDarn Tough, they are not cheap but they will last you 10x longer than the cheap ones. I still wear wool if I am wearing socks, even in summer.

safespotDefinitely merino wool. I have quite a few pairs of Darn Tough. Good socks. Very pleased with the quality. Lifetime warranty. Will never spend another cent with them.

RileyMid or light weight SmartWool.
I’ve been liking Altera sock made from alpaca fibers as well. Good sale currently.

fwbulldogMerino or Alpaca. Once you’ve worn those, cotton will always feel wet and gross.

marksman41 https://www.cloudlineapparel.c...llections/mens-sockshttps://point6.com/collections/mens-womens-socksI like and wear socks from these two companies all year. It's a matter of finding the style, weight, and height of sock that suits your needs and both places cover the gamut from lightweight running to heavyweight hiking. Personally, I seek socks with the highest Merino wool percentage.
Sign up for their notifications as they have sales throughout the year which can be quite a savings, especially if you are looking to try a few before buying a bunch.
I use to wear Darn Tough socks but they don't last for me. I'm not an overly active person and to have spots worn bare in a year or less, within a seven sock rotation, was disappointing. I did use their return policy once and got a couple replacement pairs, but they wore just as quickly as the others. Other people seem to have better results with their original purchase.
