for anyone who read my thread about adding AC to some elderly family members house. I stated my house was constructed without any ducting. We have a pellet stove and a propane Rinnai wall furnace for heating, no cooling. The Hvac guy is doing a complete system for new construction for a family member. Had him look at the other job to add AC. Did and is doing a great job on those projects. So I asked him about my place. He said lets go have a look. So he will come look at it on Mon. I talked with him today while he was on the new construction as I had a few things to do on it. He said on my place he is probably thinking about doing ducting on the main floor. approx 1200 sq. ft. It is a high vaulted ceiling with a half loft. . Probably have to pull return air on a side wall. But the interesting part is he is thinking about an elect air handler with AC coil. No heating elements and an outdoor AC unit. He said he could put heating elements in the airhandler. But since we like what we have for heating it would be most economical to set it up just for AC. Can add heat at any point down the road. Not looking to spend a ton just for a few months of AC. But if the bid comes in reasonable might have to consider it He has really impressed me with his knowledge, work ethic and work in general. So we'll see. I am no expert here so please chime in "Practice like you want to play in the game" | ||
