Ha! Pismo just looks reddish in the summer when the Bakersfield crowd descends. Pismo hasn’t been affordable for years. Avila’s affordability went out the window (along with its funkiness) when Unocal was forced to dig up and rebuild large portions of the town, effectively turning it into mini-Malibu. Los Osos and Morro Bay are not as crazy expensive, but I’m not sure I’d call them reddish. Not insane lefty either though, more of a “Leave me the **** alone, I’m gonna go surf.” vibe. Grover Beach, Arroyo Grande, and Oceano have their reddish tinges and are less insane price wise than Pismo.

If you want red in SLO County, look over the grade. Atascadero, Santa Margarita, Templeton, even Paso Robles (where Hogue was still based last I checked). Of course, it’s not the coastal climate.

A hard NO to any states in Yankeeland. :-)

But in reality, liberal / progressive states with high taxes and democommunist leadership, which is the Northeast, Upper Midwest, and West Coast.

I am an Alabama native and have lived here over 90% of my life. My wife is also an Alabama native and has lived here her entire life. We moved about 2-1/2 years ago about 100 miles north of where we lived for 26 years.

Alabama isn't too bad, but we have a regressive state income tax. Other states I might consider would be Tennessee and the Florida panhandle, but as I age, I prefer more temperate climates.

Somewhere on this forum is a thread with an amazing interactive USA map link. That map shows various probabilities of tornadoes, blizzards, temperatures, etc. I have searched for a while but cannot find it.
