Actor Jussie Smollett’s Criminal Trial to Begin After Years of Delay
An estimated net worth of $500k doesn’t make him rich but you could make a dent in the expenses he created for the city of Chicago.

The poor guy made a mistake.... hope he doesn't beat himself up over it.

From the mainstream media this morning: Crickets.
I'd bet his liquid assets are closer to zero.

Dollars is one thing, but what about the damage he did to the country as a whole with this lie/hoax? He drove hatred throughout this whole country during a time when the country was already at each others throats. They could bury him under the jail and it wouldn't begin to be enough in my book.
This is spot on. The incendiary nature of the allegations provided the media arsonists and race charlatans a la Al Sharpton the tools to ignite more racial division and hate. The impact on the country, had it been true, would have been profound. Thank goodness doubts about his veracity came to light early on. This kind of thing needs to be crushed and a whole lot of people should be ashamed for supporting this fakir.

While it enraged a lot of people, Victor Davis Hanson mentioned (vid. on pg.7) it also "vaccinated" many to the ideology of these leftists. If not for this forum, I wouldn't be aware of just how many hate crimes are faked. If not for Juicy, I think the average person is now aware there is such a thing. From Covington to Kenosha, more and more people are being enlightened what BLM, MSM and so are doing.

The thugs who helped - were they charged as accessories? They should be charged with something - they knew the truth. Unless they proactively came forward and exposed this.
The guy should lose money, serve time and lose all employment opportunities as an actor. He should also do ads / PSA that inform the public that fake hate crimes happen - make sure the public knows what he did and that this is not rare.

Good question. I'm guessing plea deal but doesn't that mean plead guilty to lesser charges or can the deal be for a full walk in exchange for testimony?

What crime did they commit?
Smollet, from what I've read here, was convicted of lying and/or perjury. Unless the 'assailants' lied under oath, or lied to the police, they did nothing wrong (legally). I mean, they didn't really assault the dirtbag - they simply did what they were paid to do. . .

Fox News Jussie Smollett's Subway sandwich was key to case, ex-Chicago police superintendent says Brie Stimson Sat, December 11, 2021, 5:18 AM·2 min read In this article:
Actor Jussie Smollett was found guilty of lying to police last week after he claimed he was the victim of a hate crime in 2019 and, of all things, a Subway sandwich was a key piece of evidence in the case against him, the former Chicago police superintendent said, according to reports.
Ex-Superintendent Eddie Johnson told NewsNationNow's "Morning in America" that Smollett left his home around 2 a.m. on the day he claimed to be attacked to buy the sandwich.
"OK, that’s fine," Johnson said, adding that morning was one of the coldest in Chicago that year and hardly anyone was on the street. "He comes back and gets attacked in a hate crime, supposed hate crime, and during all this scuffle – they poured bleach on him and all of this – when he got up and went into his apartment building he still had that Subway sandwich with him. That doesn’t happen."
Smollett's interview with police inside his apartment after the claimed attack was caught on body camera footage.
Johnson said victims usually abandon whatever they have with them when they’re attacked "because they’re afraid."
"This guy had the sandwich in his hand, never been touched. So that was a real tip and a clue to us that something was amiss."
Right now, we're doing what they want. We're chasing that big shiny ball, and we're not paying attention to who's throwing it.
Let's go back to the beginning! Kimm Foxx... Remember that idiot? Remember when she originally dropped the charges? Remember that there was a "phone call" made to her? Allegedly from Valerie Jarrett?
So HALF of this shitshow is over, let us not forget the OTHER HALF! Especially when it's the important half.
CWB and The Contrarian are the last two bastions of any real reporting in this town.

Damn Eddie, really? The sandwich is our key piece of evidence? And I like Eddie... Despite all his misgivings at the end, I still like the guy. But damn, brother, shut up! The rope around his neck when the police showed up, one of the coldest days of the year, MAGA hats here in Chicago, and a whole lot more, but it was a foot long from subway that cracked the case? Come on man...

Surely you do not expect anybody to go after corrupt leftist politicians? Surely you don't expect the dominant "news" media to pursue this kind of corruption?

Wasn't there also some legislation that some of the Dems were trying to push through - anti-lynching bill pushed by Cory Booker & Kamala Harris right after the original story broke (not to mention how both were supposedly friends with Jussie too)
