There HAS to be jail time in order to discourage a repeat of this sort of Hate Crime. I write this knowing full well that this Forum has a long running thread of fake hate crimes. It has to stop.

I want to see him in a labor camp of strict regime. But I have to question why the city expended so many resources on this. There were no death, no injury, no gunplay, no theft, nothing but emotional BS that should have been back burnered until they solve a few hundred more homicides.

Because his false accusation cost the city over 3000 man hours investigating a hoax. Time that could have been spent dealing with real crimes. He needs to pay for that. And by pay I mean with something more than money so it will be a deterrent to anyone else who tries it. He's rich, if all he gets is a fine then what he did is no big deal.

I think Smollett paid some kind of restitution when his case was dropped the first time.

Black Lives Matter is a sham organization, and they further demonstrated this with their ridiculous statement supporting Jussie Smollett.

They called the trial a “white supremacist charade” and stated they could never believe police. They don't seem to care if Smollett perjured himself. Their statement reveals that the only thing that matters to BLM is skin color.

BLM did not have to provide any opinion or feedback regarding Smollett. But since they did, they should have at least condemned him for causing irreparable harm to those who suffer legitimate hate crimes. Instead, this is what they wrote:

"It’s not about a trial or a verdict decided in a white supremacist charade, it’s about how we treat our community when corrupt systems are working to devalue their lives. In an abolitionist society, this trial would not be taking place, and our communities would not have to fight and suffer to prove our worth. Instead, we find ourselves once again being forced to put our lives and our value in the hands of judges and juries operating in a system that is designed to oppress us, while continuing to face a corrupt and violent police department who has proven time and again to have no respect for our lives."

The only system that is corrupt in this instance is Jussie Smollett’s honor system. If the group cannot find fault with those who do wrong, regardless of skin color, then the group is not worth taking seriously ever again.

I actually don't mind that they issued their statement. Not everyone who is favorable to the idea that "Black lives matter" is completely bonkers. Some of them will hopefully get that light bulb above their heads to turn on.

Just like the parents who saw the remote learning their children were going through and they woke up to indoctrination program their children are being subjected to.

Dollars is one thing, but what about the damage he did to the country as a whole with this lie/hoax? He drove hatred throughout this whole country during a time when the country was already at each others throats. They could bury him under the jail and it wouldn't begin to be enough in my book.
