TVzombieShouldn't he be in custody awaiting sentencing at this point. Where is the new feed? I heard guilty for 5 of the 6 charges, but not clear on what 5 or what the sentencing could be for those 5.

sdyCount 1 accuses him of telling responding Chicago Police Officer Muhammed Baig at around 2:45 a.m., some 45 minutes after the purported attack, that he was the victim of a hate crime. He said two attackers put a rope around his neck.
Count 2 refers to Smollett telling the same officer he was a victim of a battery, describing attackers beating and pouring bleach on him.
Counts 3 and 4 are when Smollett made the same claims but to a different officer, Kimberly Murray, later that morning, at just before 6 a.m.
Count 5 accuses Smollett of again telling Murray at around 7:15 p.m. that he was the victim of a battery.
Count 6 refers to Smollett reporting on Feb. 14, 2019, to detective Robert Graves that he’d been a victim of an aggravated battery.
Guilty 1-5, Not Guilty Count 6

NavyGuyI've a feeling the sentence will be lenient. Maybe a tiny bit of jail time or perhaps just probation. He should "get the book thrown at him" but that's just not going to happen. Black guy, gay, heretofore a popular actor. Nope no hard time for him.

I’d think he’d at least visit a cell for a few weeks. Like Felicity Huffman and Lori Laughlin in the USC bribery case. Smollett’s case is worse for the racial implications and the waste of city resources. Plus, he had any number of chances to admit the truth. He just had to double down on the hoax.

ZSMICHAELHe has two civil suits against him as well. He will also appeal the verdict. City of Chicago as well as the O brothers. The Smollett attorney is quite unimpressive.
