The longer I think about the jail time old Jussy got, the better my day goes. Think I will go for a long walk, and then have a nice cold hiball before supper!!

It you can walk more than 10 feet without hitting a wall, you’re having a better day than Juicy.

The whole family appears to be completely, absolutely, unconditionally delusional. Maybe juicy is as delusional as they are and he really thinks he got attacked. I mean it could happen, right? Right?

No, is correct, but I would estimate the chances are a lot higher now than they were before his attempted fraud.

To counter the French actors claim he only got jail time because of race, a Caucasian from the Midwest got a year for a fake assault attempting to dress up a workplace sexual harassment case. The feds were involved since the fake supposedly threatening phone call to make the hoax assault connection was across state lines.

I think his intersectional privilege got him a relatively light jail sentence; though I am entertained by his thrashing about over that time. I am satisfied that justice and some measure of mercy, regardless of motive, have been served

I don't think so. You have to compare this case with other such cases in the state of Illinois. Filing a false police report and lying to the police- how many people who are found guilty of such crimes in Illinois see any jail time at all? I'm guessing that unless the false report and lying to the police are secondary to more serious crimes, hardly anyone sees jail time for these things.
More than a few members of this forum were gloomily predicting that this jerk would get probation only, perhaps even just community service. Some were predicting that Juicy would not be ordered to pay back the 130K the city was asking for, and that he would not be fined.
I was hoping for token jail time- three days or so, and if he had gotten that, I would have been satisfied.
Well, it turns out that ol' Juicy got 150 days and will likely serve 75. Think about that- 75 days in jail. That's long enough to get used to it and sick of it.
On top of that, ol' Juicy's on the hook for 145,000 dollars, and he's going to have to report to a probation officer for two and half years. If he fucks up in that time, it's back to jail.
On top of all that, his humiliation was broadcast live, during which the judge berated this asshole for 35 or 40 minutes.
No, he didn't get off light. In my estimation, he got just about what he deserved. There was no way he was getting the maximum sentence, and I believe what happened last Thursday can rightly be called "justice".
Oh, and by the way- I can't imagine an appellate court overturning his conviction. In the first place, Kim Foxx already tried to let Juicy get away with it, and now, with all the attention this case has received, and with the clear and overwhelming evidence against Juicy, I think the appellate court would have to be stone crazy to let this asshole off the hook. My expectation is that Smollett will remain a convicted felon for the rest of his life, and that is no small thing.

When he gave his little speech and said "I respect you Judge, but jail time" you could see that was not acting. He was scared shitless.

Those are reasonable points about other sentences. I didn’t bother to compare. I’m gratified there is enough jail time that a narcissist like him will be miserable.

Thanks to Para, I searched out the link. It's really worth the time to watch. I don't know if this sort of dressing down is an exception to the norm, but it was impressive to see.
I think it's safe to say the Judge has spoken to all concerns regarding Smollett's behavior.

Except Juicy's desire to make supporters of DT out to be violent homophobic racists.
Authorities are apparently taking no chances on Jussie Smollett’s safety while incarcerated at the Cook County jail.
Reacting to Smollett’s outburst upon being sentenced Thursday for his conviction on charges related to drumming up a hate hoax, authorities have placed him in a psychiatric ward. That’s typically where high-profile prisoners are kept.
Smollett yelled to the courtroom upon his conviction that he was not suicidal and would not kill himself while in custody. The statement was seen as a nod to other famous and infamous inmates like Jeffrey Epstein and John McAfee, who both allegedly committed suicide while incarcerated.
“Jussie is currently in a psych ward at the Cook County Jail,” Jocqui Smollett said in a video posted to the Empire actor’s Instagram. “What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to his paperwork today and put on the front of his jail cell saying that he’s at risk of self-harm.”

Wonder how long the list is of things Juicy is not, other than suicidal. I also wonder if the suicide rate is higher than average for those who claim to not be suicidal. It is more evidence of his narcissist tendencies for him to think his case makes him important enough that somebody might off him in jail. It's a false police report dude! It's not like he's Oswald or something.

They are making this more significant than it is. Maybe he will get checked by Cermak. Standard procedure for someone like him.
