Is this at all normal? Not having been a defendant in court, nor convicted, nor sentenced I have not seen anything like this before except on TV.

But really, hours and hours of this? Do judges need to speak for this long during sentencing? I thought it would be a few minutes of the judge speaking, give out the sentence, bang the gavel, and done.

Is this grandstanding for the cameras?
