This Karen has gotten really annoying, PDQ.

ZSMICHAELMy thoughts exactly. Not convincing and talking down to the Judge. Typical attorney to the Hollywood set. Is with Gerragos firm.

parabellumWell, everybody needs an advocate at some point in their life, and right now, ol' Juicy needs a slick lawyer more than most people.

I think the judge should charge her by the minute for wasting the court's time, especially since the defense's written motion to dismiss the earlier trial decision was dismissed.
The Defense Attorney is there to advocate for their client, not assessing the situation and do what’s justice for the perception of the public. I know that you’ll never be charged with a crime or break the law, or be accused of such, however imagine if you were wouldn’t you want somebody who’s going to fight for you like the third monkey trying to get on Noah’s Ark? Whether you did it or not.

I understand the point, but what arguments is she making beyond what was in her brief to dismiss? If nothing new, the diatribe is a waste of the court's time... and it's no wonder sentencing occurs a year after verdict is rendered. Doing the same shit over and over again w/o learning is the definition of what again?

spunk639If you think that is a waste of a court’s time sit in on a restraining order or harassment order session, kindergarten produces more fruitful usage of time.

Dakor... but I liked kindergarten

ZSMICHAELI would want an effective advocate not this attorney. She comes across as superior and demanding. I prefer the friendly low key advocacy of an attorney. Her voice is grating and her arguments ineffective. Just my opinion.

I'm glad I am at work, and can't listen in, and can just check into this thread later to find out the results.
Thanks for doing the heavy lifting, guys.

Jimbo54Holy crap, she's still bloviating.

I'm surprised anyone is still awake in that courtroom.
Jim

pbslingerIf this is all info that the judge has already addressed, and considering no sense of remorse, this may just serve to irritate the judge. Unless the judge is just allowing this speech of the same info already addressed to show himself reasonable. Not that irritating the judge will sway anything, since I assume his judgement was in place before he entered court this morning. But maybe he allowed several options based on the defenses and convicteds actions.

DakorShe's getting paid by the hour, right? For which she bills her client...
Here's one solution - make it so that an attorney and their firm cannot charge a client for making statements to the court that the court has already considered as part of a written brief (and therefore part of the court record) against a former trial verdict.
Otherwise why not milk it some more and ultimately waste society's time.

parabellumThe prosecution is making clear, irrefutable points about the defense's motion. The motion will be denied, of course, and I imagine the judge can't wait to speak.
March 10, 2022, 03:02 PM
parabellumThe crime was the filing of a false police report and lying to the police, was it not? Yet, the defense keeps pressing on the reasons why the two brothers weren't charged. Well, they didn't file a false police report. They were involved in a bit of street theater. Had no police report been filed, there would have been no crime. Hello?

whododatLove it when the judge is clearly irate with comments made by the defense.
Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

parabellumOK, ten minute break. Everybody, stretch your legs, scratch your nuts (ladies excepted, of course) and then we'll come back and open up the whole can o' whoopass.
Get ready, Juicy! You asked for attention, well baby, you got it.

"And the envelope please"
