Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

Wife got the dreaded blue screen with message window had to shut down, which it did then restarted. All seems well except the tool bar that was across the bottom is now vertical on left of the the original vertical tool bar.
She wants it back on the bottom, how do I do that?

You should be able to drag it to the bottom.

What WaterburyBob said. Just press on an empty space on the bar and while holding, drag it down to the base of the screen.

Right mouseclick on the bar and make sure it doesn't say it's locked.

This is correct. Right-click on the taskbar and make sure there is not a checkmark to the left of "Lock the taskbar". If there is, left-click it to clear the checkmark. Then drag away.

I thought that was an offer that was time-sensitive and has expired long ago..... Not true?

Apparently so. I just did it on a virtual machine.

4 days ago I upgraded my dad's laptop with Win 10 from Win 7 and used the activation key that was on the Win 7 label on the bottom of his computer. It even gave him Win 10 Pro as he had Win 7 Pro to begin with.

I believe that Windows 8 does not provide a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) sticker. So you need to find a program that can extract it for you.

I know they exist. I just don’t know the names of any.

Could be wrong, but i believe 8->10 was free and 7-10 had a window of opportunity.
