I had two monster Ash trees in the backyard. Big beautiful trees with a classic shape. Lots of shade in the summer. Then the Ash borers came around. I don’t miss the fallen leaves and worries during high winds but that shade was nice.

Tree guy showed up this morning. Took right at 3 hours. Firewood spoken for, so just a little cleanup and lawn repair left.

Amazing the difference, your garden/back yard area will get a lot more sun, maybe you can grow more vittles!

Does look like you'll be having to clean up the side of the garage a bit, maybe some wetnforget mildew/mold cleaner?

Hopefully you’ll get part of the costs back selling that firewood.

We had a huge tree, maybe 30” in diameter, get blown down when TS Debby came through NC. It was on the back of our property where a community trail is located. The tree landed right across a bridge on that trail that drains a small creek on our property. It’s going to take the HOA weeks to get it rebuilt because everything has to be carried in and out…

The area under that tree has always been mossy, plus the roots make any planting a pain in the ass. The full sun should make a huge difference.

I think full sun on the garage will deal with most of the color difference as well. Some of that is the several years between shingling up to the eaves and then getting around to shingling the peak.

That really opens things up!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."
