Heard this somewhere - Time is natures way of keeping everything from happening all at once.

If the past doesn't exist yet -

that would mean there are a lot of innocent people in prison...

If the past doesn't exist, then you're at the beginning of time.

If the past doesn't exist yet, then you're traveling backward in time.

On another note: Relativity implies that the past, present, and future all exist on the same footing. In other words, points in time (future or past) exist just like points in space do. In essence, it's saying the future is predetermined.
