This isn’t my first boat. Buying my first boat was far from the best day of ownership. There were quite a few fun days but the best was probably witnessing my father in law shock the hell out of himself while helping trouble shoot an issue with the starter. Big Grin

Congrats on the boat! I have 2 boats and love the water. I spend the summers in my Mastercraft x45 and winters/fall/spring in my G3 hunting/fishing combo. Many years of fun with the family.

Sorry, I can't relate, but I get it!

Stickman, congratulations on your purchase! MAKE SURE you change out the raw water impeller. Ask me how I know!!!

Sigh…

First, that is a beautiful boat and is kinda-sorta giving me the itch again.

Secondly, and more importantly, do all your maintenance and then do it again.

There is a reason the most common acronym for boat is:

Bust
Out
A nother
T housand

Congratulations. Some of the best days of my life have been spent on the lake. I bought a Mastercraft x30 last year, and am supposed to sell my Mastercraft Prostar 190 this year. I’m finding it difficult to get motivated to list the 190. Too many memories.

If Stickman has the same financial experience that most boat owners have, I predict hearing a lot less about neat cars and fast motorcycles for a while... Please don't ask me how I know this.

Well I can say this boat has already cost me a Honda RC51 V twin superbike. Only a few days after getting this boat a RC51 popped up for sale in Virginia for $2100! It was mislabeled a “CBR sportbike” and clearly is owned by someone with no clue on the current going rate for the RC51. I’ll be shocked if the listing is still up in two days.

Some motos are leaving the collection to make room for the boat but it’s worth it. Being out on the water with my family is better than riding a motorcycle alone.

From my research both Regal and Volvo Penta make a good product so long as it is maintained and this boat was definitely cared for properly. If I have anything like the luck I had with my first boat it should be fine.

I don’t think the boat will put too much of a dent in my fun hobbies. I’m eyeing a few very nice full suspension electric mountain bikes with Bosch performance line motors. I am certified to service Bosch and like what they are doing with both electric motors and batteries. Their battery tech and data logging is VERY cool.

My boss is trying to talk me into racing this summer in the electric class of a local MTB race series. I am 99% sure I am going to do it along with my son who will race in the mountain bike (not electric) class. Cool

Many here have tried to warn you way in advance, so you can't blame the Sig Forum when half a dozen bikini clad water bunnies start taking up all kinds of room in that chick magnet watercraft

The first family boating day on our new boat went down flawlessly!

The Regal 1900 LSR RS Anniversary Edition managed Memorial Day traffic and lots of choppy water at lake Norman perfectly. I even managed to get the boat airborne once! Which resulted in a bit of profanity from the wife. Big Grin

Owning a boat is the best! The fuel injected motor started first try every time and the Volvo Penta 4.3 GXi wasn’t nearly as much of a gas guzzler as I was expecting. All day on the lake with some stops to swim and play on the many islands on lake Norman and we only burned 11 gallons! I topped off the tank with ethanol free gas at my local Harris Teeter on the way home! Cool

Eventually I may wish I had gotten the 5.0 V8 but for now this baby has enough power to make me smile. It’s able to catch up to and pass a lot of boats on the lake, which my 65 hp 16ft Wellcraft bow rider was not capable of doing. It’s also not as bad on gas as my very old two stroke Johnson outboard….which is surprising.

The fist modifications I have planned are a wakeboard tower that folds down so the boat will fit in my garage and a sun shade built into the tower.

Great to see the girls enjoying the the day on the water.
To love the water is a great thing. Getting them started early will ensure their love of it always.

Always good to sell motorcycles that fit one person for boats that fit a family.

You know the 4.3L V6 by GM is an incredibly good engine. You don't need more.
