stickman428After years of looking I bought a boat today!!!
Some of you might remember my previous boat related posts.
After a long journey and a few promising leads that didn’t pan out I finally found my boat. I pulled the trigger today on a bright red 2010 Regal 1900 RS.
It isn’t perfect but it’s solid and has more than enough room for my family. It should be a lot of fun on lake Norman.
I love the low profile tinted windshield and fast trac hull (stepped hull). It looks MUCH better and faster than even the newer Regal bow riders.

old rugged crossMercrusier? I love boats. Mine are fishing specific. They are expensive to maintain. But if you love the water. There is nothing like them. Should be fun with your young family. Enjoy and be safe.

stickman428Volvo Penta but the engine is clean and comes with tons of service records.
Ideally I would love to have gotten an outboard but Regal boats similar to this with outboards are all relatively new and cost 2-3x the cost of this boat.

That’s just a sample pic from Regal showing how the fast trac / stepped hull works.

trapper189I was thinking after reading the thread title:
Please, don’t be the ugly one. Please, don’t be the ugly one.
Then after clicking:
Hooray! It’s not the ugly one!
That’s a good looking boat that fits right in there with your watches and motorcycles.

That 1976 Silver Shadow would be incredible with a LS swap.

Unfortunately the wife HATED it and said it looked like a rich old man car.

honestlouCongratulations. Looks like great fun. Depending on your experience, and maybe regardless of your experience, I’d recommend taking a Coast Guard Auxiallary class. It’s a good idea to get some fundamental knowledge. And I highly recommend a two battery system with a battery isolator, so you have power to start and/or for communications if you run one down.

doublesharpGood job! Very versatile design and you'll be zipping around like a sports car. If it needs a little tweaking you can do a lot with different props and trim tabs. Nice drive on trailer, too, you'll be loaded in a couple minutes.

I love boats and have probably had 25 or so 18-20 footers mostly bass or utility aluminum fishing boats over the last 40 years. I buy used and am careful so my boating has been affordable.

stickman428It cost me a BMW & a Yamaha but I think it’s going to be worth it. Thankfully the low profile wind screen will make clearance into the garage a non issue. Now making room for a 21 foot boat (swim platform included plus the trailer) is another story. I’ll be quite busy making room.
