Thank you Very little |
This looks very interesting, and a lot of bang for the money, under $17K for a new sport touring bike with all the latest tech. Yamaha Just Added a New Flagship Model to its Sport Touring Lineup Yamaha is setting the bar high in the Sport Touring segment with the highly-anticipated launch of their latest masterpiece, the 2024 TRACER 9 GT+. Packed to the brim with cutting-edge rider aids and technological innovations, this bike is all set to claim the flagship position in Yamaha's Sport Touring lineup. Derek Brooks, Yamaha Motorsports Motorcycle Product Line Manager, expressed excitement about the return of the much-loved TRACER 9, but with a twist – the all-new TRACER 9 GT+ comes with a host of advanced features that elevate its capabilities and comfort to a whole new level. The heart of this beast is its thrilling 890cc CP3® inline-triple engine, combined with a lightweight chassis and semi-active suspension that promises a sporty yet comfortable ride. One of the most groundbreaking features in the TRACER 9 GT+ is the Millimeter Wave Radar unit, paving the way for Yamaha's first Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and radar-linked Unified Brake Systems (UBS). Think of it as the brain behind the operation, constantly measuring the distance to vehicles ahead and automatically adjusting cruising speed, deceleration, and acceleration to maintain a safe following distance. This means fewer rider inputs, reduced fatigue, and improved ride quality during highway cruising. Moreover, the TRACER 9 GT+ takes braking efficiency and handling to new heights with its innovative radar-linked Unified Brake System. Leveraging data from the radar and the six-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), the system assists the rider's braking input when the distance to the vehicle in front diminishes. It finely tunes front/rear braking bias and suspension damping force, stepping up the braking game for an unmatched level of control. However, it's essential to note that this is not a collision avoidance system – it merely enhances the rider's braking efforts. The TRACER 9 GT+'s six-axis IMU also plays a pivotal role in enabling other safety features, such as the Traction Control System (TCS), Slide Control System (SCS), and the front-wheel LIFt control system (LIF). These systems work in harmony to help riders unleash the bike's true potential while maintaining optimal control over various riding conditions. Comfort takes center stage in this masterpiece, too, with its new generation KYB Actimatic Damper System (KADS) electronically controlled suspension. Developed jointly with KYB, it delivers a perfect balance of sporty performance and an incredibly comfortable ride. Data from the six-axis IMU constantly feeds the Suspension Control Unit (SCU), adjusting damping forces to suit the riding conditions and making every journey a smooth one. Yamaha understands the importance of staying connected, so they've equipped the TRACER 9 GT+ with a host of modern amenities. The bike features a full-color seven-inch TFT meter, offering real-time running condition information in a clear and easy-to-read display. Riders can choose from three different screen layouts, giving them the flexibility to customize their riding experience. And the icing on the cake? Smartphone connectivity! With the Yamaha MyRide-Link app, riders can take advantage of features like weather updates, text messages, and full-screen turn-by-turn navigation through a subscription service via the Garmin® Motorize app. Of course, the TRACER 9 GT+ wouldn't be complete without Yamaha's iconic crossplane crankshaft 890cc CP3® engine, delivering unparalleled torque and thrilling power perfect for Sport Touring. Complemented by the proprietary CF (controlled filling) aluminum die-cast frame, borrowed from its Hyper Naked MT-09® sibling, the bike strikes an ideal balance of rigidity and lightweight agility, making it a true handling champion. Lastly, Yamaha has thoughtfully included a range of convenience features to spoil riders further. From a 10-level adjustable windscreen to heated grips, advanced cornering lights, and adjustable footpegs – every aspect is geared towards offering a premium level of comfort, convenience, and capability. The wait for the 2024 Yamaha TRACER 9 GT+ is almost over! It will be available at Yamaha dealers in August 2023, featuring a premium Storm Gray two-tone colorway and carrying a price tag of $16,499 MSRP. If you're in the market for a Sport Touring flagship that raises the bar, the TRACER 9 GT+ might just be your dream come true. So mark your calendars, as this technological juggernaut is set to redefine the Sport Touring experience in ways that only Yamaha can deliver. Link

It has been a long while since I've purchased or rode, but why Chain, rather than Shaft Drive ?

I really have to hand it to Yamaha for taking a dang serious effort at making motorcycles fun again. Their lineup has remained fresh and exciting for the past few years now. They really tempted me with that retro styled naked triple cylinder. Especially in the retro & iconic yellow and black racing livery. Kawasaki is also on a roll right now with the new 400cc inline four screamer. Suzuki and Honda seem to be looking at motorcycles as an afterthought compared to their offerings in the past. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Chain drive is also lighter so it saves a little on weight and every little bit helps on a moto. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

To all of you who are serving or have served our country, Thank You |
Funny I just watched a youtube on the 900GT electronically controlled suspension. It was not good for all people that like to dial in their suspension. Suspension damping was either hard or soft ...kind of a joke from the looks of it.

I like it and the tech is interesting. If it works. How much is it? If its under 18K it will sell. And my Pan America is chain drive. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles
