sig226fanNo, but that is a hell of an idea. Just bought my 2nd set of replacement headlight assemblies for my old Grand Cherokee. I really miss glass headlights.
My F150 needs to have have its headlight assembly compounded out to get rid of the hazing that has already started.
Did I mention about missing the glass already?

bald1I've had Dynashield headlight lens guards (3M film) on my 2003 Honda S2000 since I bought the car new in September 2003. They are still as good as new which is a testament to how good they've been for me.

m3zonaI've had them put on the last 4 cars I've owned. They're great headlight protection and optically clear. The first car I had them installed on was a Lexus IS300. After 3 years, I sold the car had them taken off per the new buyers direction. The HID light housing looked brand new.
The second car I had them installed on was a Lexus IS350. The front right light was hit by a chunk of tire kicked up by a truck. The headlight had a huge scrape on the front. The shop removed the film and there was no damage to the lens surface.
The first purchase I now make for any new car purchase is headlight film, clear bra for hood, front bumper and mirrors.

lbjSo we are talking a separate product from the clear bra then.
I going with self healing Expel Ultimate for the bra portion.

cparktdHad the new 10 year 3-M ultimate paint protective film put on a new car a couple months ago. I had the entire front end, hood, fenders, mirrors, windshield surround, door cups and rocker panels done. They did also Include the head and fog lights. Your installer should have pre-made templates for them just like the other parts.
Or were you planning on doing them yourself?

I've had good luck with this product on three different vehicles.

cmr076take a look at Xpel, that's the standard for vehicle wrapping currently (according to my two detailers)
the Xpel ultimate is self healing which is probably perfect for headlights and other areas prone to rock chips.

LS1 GTOI have seen it on a few 04 - 06 GTOs and Mustang GTs to name a few.
From what I have seen, they do protect the lens from rocks but did not appear to prevent the hazing and crazing indicative of the modern plastic lens. A yellow film for converting driving lights into fog lights looked okay when the correct yellow tint was used.
For the 07 Tacoma, which is not covered and effected by the hazing and crazing, the Mother's lens restorer works well for a year or so.
I wished I purchased a second set of headlights for the GTO wen the parts were readily available.

OrgussI had a clear bra installed on my Taurus and the shop included the headlights using the same material. It's been four years now and there is no fade or discoloration to the clear bra. I'm not sure what brand of clear bra, though.

BigWhupI have always been a fan of the clear bra stuff. However, my experience has been if you store the car outside, after about six years the film will brown up, looking dirty.
And it s a bastard to remove.
My last quote for just installing it on the the bumper on a Lexus LS460L was $500. Fuck that.

For headlights and foglights, this stuff works wonders. It is easy to put on. It's a lot thicker than any clear bra material I've seen, and will probably protect from rocks much better. I have typically replaced it after four or five years (it's hot as hell here and I do a lot of interstate driving). When you pull it off (comes right off, not permanent) after that time the head/fog light looks like brand new underneath.

phydoughI use lamin-x on my headlights and 8 Hella 4000's on my truck. Have not had any crack yet. I have replaced the wrap on two Hella's since applying because rocks had tore them up a bit. Good stuff.
