I know someone is watching the inbox because I was getting almost instantaneous responses for a while. Hell, I just bought a fricken PDX upper and stripped lower from these guys and they both shipped out within a day.

This is Rainier by the way.

Rainier Arms out in WA? Not a surprise. I used to be a loyal customer for many years, buying shit from them left and right, when they were still small time but with great customer service. Then they grew bigger and moved, and CS was starting to suffer. Then Obama happened, and things went downhill rapidly. They grew but did not staff adequately, screwing up many of my orders, one of which is exactly like yours. Ordered something from them, labeled was created, but there were no movements for a couple of weeks. Contacted them, and it was the same excuse. They were overwhelmed because of the Obama panic. But, you need to realize why I was not impressed with such lame excuse, since during this same time period, vendors like BCM, TGS, and Greg Cote never skipped a beat. Ever. Haven't returned to Rainier since. I know that they are even much bigger now, probably 10 times bigger than originally, with all the latest and greatest for the tacticool operators. And, it looks like they still have the same issue. Roll Eyes
Sad really, because John Hwang (the CEO) and his bunch are such nice people.

Well yeah, this is why I started this thread. In the same time frame I’ve ordered from PSA, BCM, and a couple others and ALL of my items shipped and arrived in a week or less.

Frustrating. I had no idea this was even a thing as it relates to actual firearms.

Ypou've waited a month longer than I would have done. Contact your CC and dispute the charge, then start looking elsewhere for your desired pistol.

Their excuses are garbage.

We orders a truck tablet computer display new from the Vendor. $1300.00 plus. It shipped UPS and was shown delivered. We never got it. We called our business UPS Service Line and was told the shipper needs to file a lost item claim. Contacted the shipper and they said we need to file a claim. Contacted UPS Business Support line and got a supervisor. They confirmed that the shipper has the way bill for the shipment and they need to file a lost item claim. Called our account rep at the company we purchase these systems from. The Company filled the lost item claim. The company received the payment from UPS for item and overnight shipping in 7 days.

At that time the shipping company contacted us and asked if we wanted to reorder item or credit to our account. We took a reorder item for there was a need to have on in stock. Once the shipping company filed the lost item claim thing went real well and we received several emails along the paperwork trail from the shipper.

As an update from Rainier:

quote:

Hi Kyle,

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you, as you can likely imagine, things are a bit hectic right now.

I've refunded your charge on this order, and we'll be in communication with UPS, the ATF, and Brace Built about this. Unfortunately, while it seems unlikely to have packages not being scanned, especially when it's a firearm, it is unfortunately common right now.

As our phones are ringing basically non-stop right now, if you have any other questions about this please reach out to me at this email directly.

So I'm whole again, but I won't be using Rainier again, primarily because I know that they say that "In stock is up to date on our site!" while at the same time practicing a method of "in stock" acquisition that is entirely the opposite of that.

Your mileage may vary. Thanks for all the help and input. Buyer beware.

It's common with USPS. And perhaps FedEx (Ground). It is not "common" with UPS. Not IME.

Noted and thanks for outing them. Turns out I've an account there. I've added a note to their entry in my keyring.

Listing something as "in stock" when it's not is not acceptable. Even then I might be able to overlook it if they got it shipped promptly nonetheless. And, even lacking that I might be able to give 'em a break if they communicated and made it right promptly. They did none of these things.

Things that are "in stock" should ship within a few days, maybe a week under the current circumstances.

Things that are custom, gunsmith type work, milling...etc should ship within the parameters that are listed or advertised +/- a week.

Outside of that, I'm calling AMEX and getting my fucking money back.

It’s an opinion but not reality in the current climate. Every gun distributor is behind, I have an order I placed to a distributor two weeks ago and they haven’t touched it yet. Drop shipping relies on distributors to ship, normally it’s in stock but shipping is slower than its ever been due to overwhelming orders and fewer employees.

That being said if I was the OP I’d tell them you want a delivery date or you’re doing a charge back.

As was posted with CC they should not charge if they can’t deliver in 30 days.

My view is pretty simple. They should not be charging until it ships! Charging your credit card and then shipping up to 30 days later? Something a little funny (to me) there.
