RightwireLet I get this straight. A group of African American athletes, who get paid millions of dollars a season for playing a game, ten fold more than the average professional, and a hundred times more than hourly workers...
Many of who used athletic talent and drive to achieve the highest level in their profession....
Who use their money for huge homes, expensive cars, planes, trips, an entourage, and efforts that make them more money (Leaving out hookers and drugs)...
The idols of many, showing you CAN make it...
Are boycotting over racial injustice????
You can't make this up!

esdunbarThe only thing that HAS to stop is people acting like assholes who resist arrest and get shot being treated like victims of anything but their own stupidity.

Seems Blacks make up ~15% of the US population, but ~70% of NBA and NFL players. How does racial justice and equality fit here?

Blacks also make up 45% (nor more--see note below) of the NBA viewership.
So what exactly do these players think they're accomplishing? Isn't this a bit like blacks destroying their own neighborhoods in protest over some-or-another perceived slight?
Note: The source for the 45% number is
23 Terrific NBA Fan Demographics. Being as that was published five years ago, it's a pretty good bet that 45% number is low today.

HRKThe only time I've seen any NBA games this year is Sunday when we went out for a family lunch, they had it on one of the large tv over the bar area.
If folks started not going to eat/drink in places that show NBA games, the numbers of viewers would drop to near zero..
My neighbor an I watched lots of NBA games for a while, his son plays overseas, and even he's turned the NBA off...

2012BOSS302I fully support this boycott by the NBA and any others such as the NFL, MLB and college teams. I will do my part for them, and help to stick it to the man, by not purchasing any products of the team and league advertisers. If successful the players may get the leagues to shutdown and fold, that will really show them.

bonfireNever been a big sports fan so I am ok if they boycott themselves out a job. Would rather do yard work or spend time with the family. With all the money these folks earn it amazes me that most don't do anything good with the money other than buy expensive items for themselves. Very few invest back into the community to make it a better place.

HK AgIll see their one game boycott and raise them the rest of my caring life.
Stop resisting arrest, that only needs to stop!

ShaqlThey start playing once they're informed they're in breach of contract and will have to repay their bonuses etc...
Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

Already ended the boycott, my guess is the NBAPU reminded them that their income is derived from TV contract revenue, no play no pay...

Yeah, that's hilarious if it's the real reason. They probably really believed they would continue to get paid for the rest of the season even if they didn't play. That's just how extra special they think they are compared to the rest of us.

parabellumThey would have to be able to
READ their contract to figure this out.
All these
jeenyuses went through
kollaj with a 4.0 GPA (they all had

sistimic raysisum that kept them from gettin' 15 or 20 of them GPAs.
And why they just got a

FlashlightboyAnd the one day boycott of themselves is over.
What a horrid stunt that undoubtedly didn't send the message they thought would resonate.
Complete fail.

10X-ShooterI quit watching basketball since Larry Byrd left so I couldn’t give less of a fugg if they played bouncy. I’ve quit watching “Professional” football when they started getting on their knees. Only sports I watch anymore are college football, MLB (not if it’s on ESPN), racing, and sumo wrestling.
