A Police Officer in the North County Co OP Department, PO Michael Langsdorf, was shot and killed Sunday afternoon while investigating a bad check at a liquor store. The 26 YOA suspect who wrote the check was still at the scene and was armed. The suspect has an extensive and violent criminal history in North Carolina.

The local FOP and area Departments are doing a Constant Vigil, a Last Watch over the officer's body until he is laid to rest.

St. Louis Post Dispatch: Police Officer Fatally Shot

St. Louis Post Dispatch Suspect with Violent Criminal History

PO Langsdorf had previously worked for the St. Louis City Police Department for 17 years but resigned after he and three other officers were charged by newly elected progressive anti-police St. Louis City Prosecutor Kim Gardner for falsifying time sheets. The officers worked for a drug task force and had been told to submit ambiguous time sheets to keep their assignment covert. The charges were dropped last year after a judge denied a city prosecutor’s request for more time to gather evidence. Yes, with the progressive prosecutors you can be charged before there is any evidence you committed a crime. A couple officers I supervise worked with Michael in the DEA Task Force and all said he was a damn good officer.

My mistake on the name, I was up all night too. The forum Kevin works for St. Louis County Police in the Jennings area I believe, so he may have been one of the ones up all night following down all the leads. Just because the suspect is in custody and has confessed, you still have run down ALL the leads down; where he is putting his head down, finding ammo in his room that matches what was in the pistol, has he committed other crimes in the area.

Either way, RIP.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

From our local rag ( link) : "According to North Carolina Department of Public Safety records, Meeks was convicted in Wake County in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 on drug related charges."

And, yet, he's free. What a misjustice!

1. I'm fine, thanks for asking.

2. Yes, this piece of trash who killed PO Langsdorf was convicted of multiple offenses and for some idiotic reason (that probably involves bleeding heart idiots) was not in prison.) We knew this as soon as he was captured, about 5 minutes after his murdered the officer.

3. Yes, he was called to the convenience store (a store that has a LOVE/HATE relationship with the police, as many in the area do as they want to remain in business since the past 5 years of events here) for someone (the suspect) trying to cash a bad check.

An altercation ensued where both went to the ground and from what I have heard so far, the suspect had a pistol in his waist and got off the ground first, pointing the gun at the officer. The officer tries to defend himself at which time he is shot, entering the back of the neck, through the spine, and out the chest.

The immediate aftermath was supposedly live streamed on facebook by the store clerk who was working at the store that called the police in the first place.

Supposedly some of the family of the officer saw the live stream BEFORE they even knew it was their family member dying on the video.

I'm not going to post any personal thoughts other than to say this is a tragedy, as apparently it isn't safe to do so on the internet these days because apparently police officers aren't allowed to have emotions. I'll just say the suspect in in custody, and unfortunately we have a prosecuting attorney that does not believe in holding criminals accountable to the extent they have to forfeit their lives even if they take the life of another.
