My grandchildren get similar chores and they get paid a stipend. Then we go to a flea market or someplace where they can spend or save their money. Building the work/reward mindset. And they don't always spend it. Sometimes they bank it for the next trip.

Actually, that pic shows just how great a dad you are. Involving the kiddos and letting them own a piece of the accomplishment of the job is the way it should be done.
