Did you notice how it morphed into a black helicopter after it got into the air? Downright sinister.

Cool video. Thanks for sharing. I understand there are now about 7 major studios in the ATL area.

How long are these 50 year old choppers going to fly? Will they still be flying in 50 years when they are 100?

Should be some well-maintained UH-1Ns available soon. The Air Force uses them for security of our missile silos. A contract was awarded last fall to Boeing/Leonardo for the MH-139, replacing the Hueys they use now. Can’t find anything current on delivery dates, or transitioning the pilots to the new aircraft.

They are such a rugged aircraft I suspect like the B52 and C130, some will be flying somewhere for decades.
An army pilot I am acquainted with actually retired rather than transition to the blackhawk

I took a ride in a Huey at the Dayton Airshow many years ago. Looks like they're still doing it and they also have a Cobra. Very cool experience with actual Vietnam Vets doing the flying.

Are you going to stand out in your yard and go on a soliloquy about the smell of napalm in the morning?

Lots of filming going on in Norcross right now. Especially at the old Lucent plant.

I learned to hate flying in those things in the late 60's while in the Army. Not the machine but the crazy ass, "I want to die young" pilots that flew them. All were returnee's from Vietnam and loved to try and make us puke and they succeeded often. We get 2-3 of them flying overhead from the local Air National Guard station and I love the whop-whop sound they make on approach.

Great documentary about it was called, In the shadow of the blade, they flew a rebuilt Huey to different veterans events for the soldiers who flew and had flown on them, and the family’s of those who were KIA. It was a great documentary about the vets, and what the Huey mention to them.

Love that sound! I got to do an air assault training mission with the last active duty UH-1 unit when I was stationed in AK in the late 90s, it was really cool.
