Own two sets of Airpods, different generations. There’s one pod on each set that refuses to work. Usually paired to an iPhone 12 Pro, OS up to date. Wife likes the Airpods (when they work) and is hell bound to buy a new pair. These Airpods see little or no use. The Spousal Unit doesn’t listen to Music and uses the Pods once in a Purple Moon to talk on the phone while working. The regular Airpods i bought used, just to see how good the product was. The Pro i bought brand new and i don’t think they have more than 10 hours of use on them. Tried everything i could find online with no success. Starting with the old pair (Airpods), i noticed that after resetting my phone network settings i managed to hear both pods perfectly. But it didn’t take long before one stopped working. That tells me it’s not full of grit or obstructed physically Battery is fully charged both pods and case. Haven’t tried the Pros yet. Am testing both sets on my iPhone but my wife, owner and user, has these issues on her own iPhone 12 Pro. There’s no Official Apple presence in my country so there is no return policy, support or store to take them. Technical term is SOL. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Are you certain you don't have the sets mixed (one from each)?

What do you mean by phone networks settings? The phone network shouldn’t have anything to do with it. Have you tried deleting them from the Bluetooth devices? Then re-set with the button on the case and re-pair the device. You can also try a hard reset on the phone itself. ____________ Μολὼν Λαβέ 01 03 04 14 16 18

Thank you Very little |
Went through this for a while, eventually had to replace the charging case, it was only charging one side. Make sure it's clean inside, fully charged, and the tips of the pods are clean. There are other things you can do as well Link Apple Tips AirPods

Resetting Phone Network settings is supposed to clear all previous knowledge of the pods. Done this after trying several times forgetting the devices and pairing them again and again. This network reset flushed all my other memorized wifi networks and is a last resort measure. Don’t try it at home. Used this trick with MS Windows when there’s no connecting a machine to a network and everything looks fine but no joy. But at least i got a very brief satisfactory connection of both pods. Lasted less than a minute. Both sets of pods have never been used at the same time or navigated the same room at home, not possible to mix them. Cases and pods show fully charged. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Yes. Re: clean inside I always have a can of “Dust-Off” with a thin plastic tube nozzle on hand. I stick that tube into each well of the AirPods case and blast with gas to keep them clean. 0-0, you have no nearby Apple Store? That would be the place to ask. Serious about crackers

The Pro's are expensive. And much better in my opinion. The noise cancelling is very effective and the rubber tips erase my biggest issue which is the older versions are kind of easy to dislodge. I kind of hated running with the older versions.

AirPods don’t last much beyond 18 months of daily use. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

Where did you buy the new airpods? From the Apple Store? Even without Apple Care there’s a warranty. I don’t know about internationally, but with Apple Care they’ll just send a new pair. Can’t imagine they wouldn’t have a similar policy for international customers. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

Have them in the case, and open the case by the phone. A screen report will open up automatically to tell you the state of them. Power available at a minimum for the case and the pods.

On the topic of AirPods… Sometimes I run into an issues where one of the pods does not charge, even though the case if fully charged. I’ve found the solution to this is to watch for the ‘green light’ on the case to flash once as I put each Pod back in the case. If you don’t see the flash, the case does not ‘see’ the Pod being put back and will not charge it. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

My old AirPods are way past 18 months. I gotta imagine the battery life isn’t as good anymore but I rarely wear them to battery exhaustion even when they are new. I’m not a wear them all day like jewelry guy but a put them in as needed guy. Lol I am loving these tips though. I just put them in the car to watch the flash. Never noticed that before. Hmm.

On a couple of rare occasions the right bud in my old set of original pro’s did not seat properly and when going to use them the next time, was not charged. It connected briefly but before disconnecting gave a sound indicating the battery was dead. If that was the case here there should have been a similar indication, since OP says it connected before dropping. ____________ Μολὼν Λαβέ 01 03 04 14 16 18

Ivecully charged both sets of Airpods and cases before pairing them with my own phone. I use and love my Samsung Buds+. They’ve seen extetuse and are probably 3 + years old. Checked them using getting them near the phone, all lights green. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20
