Stumbled upon a nice little used motorcycle yesterday
Years ago I had a Trail 90. A few years ago Honda introduced the retro Trail 125 and every time I saw one I took the time to admire the simple design and Honda's excellent fit and finish on these little bikes. And unlike the old Trail 90 and 110 this new one is modernized with electric start (and kick start), electronic ignition, LED lighting, disc brakes with ABS on the front, and fuel injection.
I never got around to picking one up because they really didn't make sense for me. For one thing it's only a 125cc. And another is they aren't cheap at around $4,000 MSRP.

Yesterday when I stopped in the local motorcycle store, there in the used bike section was a Trail 125 that someone traded in on a scooter. It had 255 miles and appeared new. After some brief haggling over price we loaded in the Ridgeline and I brought it home. Smile

Ready for exploring trails and local roads.

I know nothing about motorcycles but I always thought those little Hondas looked like they would be fun. Enjoy your adventures.

Thank's, I hope to get a lot of enjoyment from this little bike. I'm planning on taking it along when car camping because it's so light and easy to load in the truck.

Very nice. I've got a 1970 Trail 90. Doesn't look as nice as your's, but that little thing will climb trees.

Looks sharp! What year is that? It 'looks' vintage, but it also looks like it has anti-lock brakes and led lighting.

Very cool. It brings back "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" era.
In 1972 I bought by first MC; an XL250 that I rode to work at Boeing in Renton, WA. Fun times.

Cool little bikes. Great for running about on fire roads or even in to town for snacks. Enjoy

You meet the nicest people on a Honda!

Not a chance I would have passed on that. I do have to chuckle a little though as Honda says:

“ It's powered by a formidable 125cc engine…"

I was a motorcycle shop-rat/parts guy/service manager/and sales manager from 1996-2009.

Sometimes I think we in the business went too far. We were so concerned with how fast we could make them go, how high we could make them jump, how comfortable or long-range we could make them...that we forgot what made us all love them in the first place.

The buyers in our demographic - old enough to have fun toys, but not yet too old to use them - are in love with bikes like this, because they remind us of trail riding with our buddies, zooming around the sand pit with our friends, or maybe our first club ride or poker run.

That's why these modern retros are popping up everywhere, and selling like free beer. Big Grin

I think it's fantastic, and I bet it becomes one of your favorites.

Nice pick up! Back in the early 70's a friend of mine had I think it was a Trail 50, maybe it was the 70. That little thing was a blast. Brings back great memories, I had a Suzuki TS125 at the time. There were about 3 us in our group. One ride was during the winter, and I had on one of those Air Force winter parkas that were popular at the time. He was ahead of me on the trail, and I was lagging behind taking pictures for a school assignment as we rode. I was looking off to the side taking a picture. Next thing I know, I was flying through the air, did the superman with my arms out in front, hit the ground and slid. When I stopped sliding, the sleeves of the bulky parka were up to my shoulders. For some reason he had stopped on the trail, and I had run into the back of him and launched. We laughed so damn hard; my stomach hurts now thinking about it. Amazing thing, the camera survived.

I'm sure you'll get lots of enjoyment out of that thing. Hope it makes good memories for you.

Interesting because I bought my first motorcycle, a new XL250, in 1972.

Not a motorcycle guy but that looks like a great little “commuter” type vehicle if you lived close to work or other places you needed to go. I can appreciate a beautiful motorcycle even though I don’t ride myself. From a practical standpoint, if I lived somewhere my commute to work or other places of interest was short, and traffic wasn’t crazy and the weather would allow year round use, I could see the practicality.
Also your comment about taking it camping with you is a great idea. If you are all set up and just need to make a quick supply run, this would be handy

Way cool. I have had many Hondas over the years having raced motocross most of my life. Very nice find.

Nice find.

I had one 90cc yellow when a kid.
I’ve been looking for the newer models but the dealers don’t have any new let alone a nice used one . Great find.

That thing is in beautiful shape! But does that exhaust come as close to your inner thigh as it looks like it does? Eek
