As previously mentioned, ozone machine will clear smoke AND any other odors from previous owners. Would highly recommend getting detail shop to do ozone and good detail. That way you are starting from scratch almost on cleaning/maintenance.

That’s what I’d get if I replaced what I have.

Be ready for people to think you are the contractor. Seriously, we hired a contractor for some remodeling work and every time I pulled in my own driveway subs would start talking to me like I knew what was going on.

Great looking truck. So, what kind of mileage do you expect out of that 7.3 ? I've heard good things about that engine.

There is some good information on line about the 7.3 litre eengine.I found a cool photo of one sitting on its oil pan which appears to have collapsed side walls, due to the weight. I find it's dual alternators and I believe, dual batteries interesting. Hope it is under coated against salt and a good tough bed liner.

I got 17 on the freeway drive home, probably 13-14 in town. Which if I’m 100% honest, is pretty comparable to the Tacoma.

Those 8' bed CC trucks are LONG! I picked up a 2004 CC Duramax with an 8' bed and a snowplow last fall. I knew it was long before I bought it, but it is a bit of a PITA in parking lots. I only need the plow for my driveway, but those extra couple of feet really add to the trouble of plowing a driveway. The truck it replaced was a 89 Chevy K2500 regular cab with an 8 foot bed.

Funny you mention that David, it’s priority one for me this summer. I was actually headed up to a place today to let them quote undercoating and bed liner services.

I get a chuckle over people in the suburbs driving around in an F250 dual cab with a short bed. Almost all the pickups here have the same configuration. Now personally I hate parking near one of these monsters with an 8 foot bed + dual cab. Can’t imagine driving one around. But at least it’s functional and not just for show.

They are easily spotted here, driving 3mph at a 45 over speed bumps in their lifted crew cab on clean mud terrains with a 4’ bed. Just big enough probably to fit their newest dildo.

You should drive your truck over a speed bump before you make fun of others. I was shocked to learn the first time I did in mine, that it doesn't absorb the bump like the minivan.

Be safe, and smart while towing. On I-75 between Tampa and Ocala, I just saw a jack knifed travel trailer behind what looked to be a small Jeep SUV of some sort. Beautiful sunny day and dry roads which makes you wonder why it happened. First thing that crossed my mind was "Not enough truck." You won't have that problem of course.

Laser printers emit ozone, hence the reason it may get rid of the smell.

Drove a U-haul F-650 last fall with the new 7.3 gasser hauling the drums for the boy's high school band to an away game. I was impressed; very torquey and stout motor.

SO far I'm very impressed. The 55mph highways in and around the Balt/DC area coupled with 24/7 traffic have prevented me from really getting on the gas. But otherwise it's felt pretty good.

We used to have work Chevy 2500 work trucks. And at some point around 2006/2007 time frame they changed the motor offerings in the 8' bed models. What used to be a really responsive engine, on the highway at speed, became extremely lackluster. Trying to pass a semi took forever, you'd get no downshift. Just a slow rise in speed that would make you mad.

I have not experienced that with this truck. When you get on the gas you get a response. Slightly muted by the weight of the truck of course, but you can tell when you press the gas.

I haven't had a load on it, and my little 1500# teardrop wont even register most likely. But when we upgrade to a fifth wheel I'm sure it'll be fine.

Yeah, you're not even gonna feel that. That's gonna look pretty awesome getting dragged down the road by that beast...I think we need some pics !

Idea here for smell. HVAC filter is a constant source of the smell if it hasn’t been swapped out, something easily overlooked. Another thing I’ve found helpful is a good windex cleaning of every surface even upholstery (gentle here), if your towels are getting yellow you know you’re doing good.
