Ann Coulter says she’d consider vote for Bernie Sanders

By Joseph A. Wulfsohn | Fox News

Published 2 hours ago

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter said she could support Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, in 2020 and even floated the idea of working in his administration if he returned to his earlier stance on immigration.

In a preview clip of PBS’s “Firing Line with Margaret Hoover” released Wednesday, host Margaret Hoover asked Coulter how she viewed the progressive senator. She asked whether she would support him if he campaign on “getting rid of low-skilled workers” to ensure higher wages.

“If he went back to his original position, which is the pro-blue-collar position. I mean, it totally makes sense with him," she said. If he went back to that position, I’d vote for him. I might work for him. I don’t care about the rest of the socialist stuff. Just-- can we do something for ordinary Americans?”

Coulter was apparently referencing Sanders’ policy position from 2007 where he opposed an immigration reform bill that he feared would drive down wages for lower-income workers. He co-authored a restrictive immigration amendment with Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA. The bill ultimately failed to pass the Senate.

Sanders rejected the idea of having open borders while speaking at a campaign event earlier this month.

“What we need is comprehensive immigration reform. If you open the borders, my God, there's a lot of poverty in this world, and you're going to have people from all over the world. And I don't think that's something that we can do at this point. Can't do it. So that is not my position,” Sanders said.

Coulter, who authored the book “In Trump We Trust” ahead of the 2016 election, was an early supporter of Donald Trump but has since become a vocal critic of the president for not keeping his campaign promise of building a wall at the southern border.

She seems to have faded to irrelevance over the years, and it has warped her mind. She is frantically trying to get back into the public eye and this would be a last gasp attempt at relevance.

I don't care who she votes for, works for, etc.

Coulter has always been a bomb thrower. She puts stuff like this out there to create a stir for attention on the issue and, like Elk noted, on herself. I don't think for a minute that she's serious about not caring "about the rest of the socialist stuff" or that she'd actually vote for Sanders, but she is showing his supporters his past record that they either aren't aware of or simply ignore.

That said, if there was a somewhat less kooky, less socialist challenger to Trump that was serious about controlled borders, I also don't doubt for a moment that she'd consider voting for the person over Trump.

Glenn Beck at least seems to have come to his senses.

Actually, she's worse than Beck. Beck was a never Trumper before Trump really had any kind of record. Actually, if anything, one might assume before his election that he would be a typical New York liberal. Well, now Beck has changed his tune a bit.

Coulter on the other hand is turning on the President after he's proven to be probably the most conservative President certainly since Reagan. How does that square? Seriously, she's become one annoying bitch.

She has made immigration her big issue for now. I think she is just stating how important it is and how it used to be important to Bernie.

Anyone remember her "let's get drunk and vote for Mcain" campaign?

I wish she would just go away and never be heard from again. She probably supported Trump initially because it jived with her abrasive, contrarian personality and allowed her to annoy people which is what I think is her goal in life.

Same old wishy-washy, attention-craving horse shit from Coulter.

This is from May, 2017:

Just ignore the egomaniac. In two months, she'll be singing some different tune, because it will then get her some more attention. Coulter thinks these kinds of outrageous statements will get her sufficient exosure to boost her book sales. Too bad she's so very shallow, dishonest and self-serving.

She's an attention whore but this was tongue in cheek if you read what she said.
She said, if Bernie would go back to the anti-illegal immigration stance he had when he co authored a bill in 2007 to cut illegal immigration, she would consider him.
She, like many others, says stuff to keep herself in the headlines so the checks will keep arriving.
Really nothing more to it. just looking for clicks and eyeballs.

I don't give a rat's ass what she said or what she meant by it or how clever she thinks she is. She's a self-serving, wishy-washy loudmouth. Coulter cares not a bit about this country. It's all about what you can do for Ann, because she's so Goddamned special.
