I have a bit of their stuff and it is good however I refuse to buy from them anymore.
They claim their stuff is made in the States but it’s been found many of their items dating all the way back to 2008 were actually made overseas but still sold and marketed as being US Made.
So they get no more money from me.

Interesting. They initially appeared to be doing a good job of differentiating between their US-made LBT stuff and their foreign-made LBX stuff. Seems they began to blur the lines at some point.

I have a LBT duffel and backpack that I've used for nearly 20 years. Totally bombproof. Great quality.

Just my thought: but do you think they would have paid 2M and still have this on their site after the 2023 ruling?

FAQ

Q: Where are LBT products made?
All of LBT’s products are proudly made in the USA (VA and TX).

Q. Why aren't all of your products on your website?
London Bridge Trading manufactures over 2000 products and carries over 300 retail items. Our website features only the items that are in the highest demand.

I live right down the street from them. They used to have a store/showroom you could go in to put hands on the gear but they closed it a few years back. probably around the time of the controversy. My brother would shop there for stuff before he deployed. Their stuff is very well made and should last most people a long, long time.

There was no ruling. It was a settlement. From the site Black linked:
“The claims resolved by the settlement are allegations only and there has been no determination of liability.”

I would think whatever compliance issue they may have had has been rectified by now. In other words, yes I believe they paid $2 million dollars and their FAQ to be true.

I’ve had my three day pack for 17 years. It’s been a diaper bag, 3-day pack, range bag, my personal bag for the airlines with my computer, a book bag for my kids in a pinch, etc. It’s survived Disney, Universal, Legoland, Tahquamenon Falls, Cumberland Gap, the Keys, the Everglades, The Suwannee River, etc.

My thought is they are liars and would still be doing the same thing today, intentionally labeling and marketing foreign made goods as US Made had they not been caught.
That does not sit well with me.

Wasn’t aware of the controversy
I bought my pack and load out bag over 20 years ago, my son finally destroyed a buckle on the load out bag during a Marine deployment
I’ll call, but I’ve heard they will repair for free
Bought a second pack a couple years ago to replace the one said Marine “borrowed”
The quality seems the same
Would be interested to hear the details on this scandal, apparently an inside whistleblower

Trying to rationalize why I need another one. I think having a different color might be a good enough reason at that price.

I just bought that same pack on March 30th when it was on sale.......$89.
I have to agree--best backpack that I have owned.
When LBT goes on sale--only time to buy cause it's way too expensive.

Thanks for the heads up. Didn't know which color so I got both Olive and Coyote. I didn't get the $89 but for $110 a piece that's good enough. A good pack is essential in Puerto Rico and all of mine are getting destroyed by the salty air.
