In 2017, as part of the "My Black is Beautiful" platform, P&G released an advertisement called "The Talk". The advertisement shows African American parents throughout the decades giving their children "the talk" about racism. The advertisement garnered controversy for several different reasons. Some people criticized the advertisement for not showing any fathers giving "the talk" while others accused it of being anti-white. One scene shows a mother warning her daughter about being pulled over by the police. The daughter responds by saying that she is a good driver so her mother doesn't need to worry about her getting a ticket. The mother then implies that she might experience police brutality by being racially profiled and killed. Several police officers and police groups accused that part of the advertisement of being anti-cop. "The Talk" was accused by Michelle Malkin of the right-leaning National Review of being "liberal advertising". Malkin also called the advertisement "Black Lives Matter propaganda" and accused it of pandering and using identity politics. Despite the criticism, the advertisement also received a lot of positive reception and praise with some calling it "powerful" and "thought-provoking". The advertisement has also won several awards including the 2018 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity Grand Prix and the 2018 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial during the 70th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

I started using Dollar Shave Club at the recommendation of a forum member here and never looked back.

I get three shipments a year from Dollar Shave and I'm good.

Edit: I don't buy their pre-shave oil. It works good for me, but it is expensive. So I looked at the ingredients and saw the first one listed was grape seed oil. So now I buy I big bottle of grape seed oil in the grocery store for something like $8 or so and use that.

You can also use food grade mineral oil for a pre-shave oil if you prefer. Food grade mineral oil is the primary ingredient in baby oil. I figure if it is good enough for a baby's butt its good enough for my face.

They now have a second 30 second clip of the initial 1:48 video.

Guessing that one is intended for television...

Damn, I have been using their Mach 3 for years. I saw this and actually had to check since I had not ideal who made them. If they are this retarded and disconnected from their base they need to lose that base.

It seems that most of the people who work in advertising are "creative" types who tend to be leftists.
Still, the company doesn't have to take their recommendations. If a company wishes to piss off half the people it's trying to market to... it deserves to lose half it's sales.

Doesn't Gillette own / make a lot of the DE replacement blades. The Gillette branded ones for sure, but I thought they also made a lot of the other brands (I may have bad info) - since a lot of the blades are made in Russia.

Could just be one one plant that makes blades for the different brands to their specification.

Also, not that you would find a good deal at the "Art of Shaving" shops, but Gillette owns those as well.

As Para pointed out, Gillette is owned by P&G - who owns a whole host of other brands.
