While I was a Purdue student, 3 of the guys from my house were photographed by the local newspaper since it was finals week and they were blowing off steam shooting pool in the Student union. The reporter asked for their names and one of the guys said, “Oxbig, first name is Mike.” It made it past the reporter and editor and the name Mike Oxbig was published in the Lafayette Journal & Courier. It’s been almost 25 years and I still chuckle.
