Pipe SmokerPalindrome Monday – 02/02/2020 first date palindrome in 909 years
“Today is 02/02/2020, marking the first palindrome to occur in a numerical date in 909 years.
That means the date reads the same whether its read forwards, or backwards.
A palindrome is a sequence of numbers or letters that reads the same no matter how one reads it. For example, the words mom and dad are palindromes.
The last time a palindrome within a date occurred was 909 years ago on 11/11/1111.
The next one will come in 101 years on 12/12/2121…”

Skins2881That's OK you can start prepping for 2121 now, or maybe buy a copy of 2112 and blast some Rush and get your mini palindrome on.

I just heard from the president of the Orlando Palindromic Society, who drives
A TOYOTA. I have been informed that there is a palindromic date the following year, as well: 11-02-2011.

It is technically not a palindrome because of the '/' characters in it.
But, ignoring that little bit, it is also a palindrome using the ISO international standard date format: 2020-02-02

The month and day have to have the same numeric value in order for the date with the year to be a palindrome in mm-dd-yyyy and dd-mm-yyyy formats on the same date. Note, yesterday was also the 33rd day of the year and there were 333 days left, 33333, which will never happen again on a palindrome date.

RogueJSKThere have been several palindromes like this in recent years, including 11/02/2011 and 01/02/2010. And another coming up next year on 12/02/2021.
There are even more if you use m-dd-yyyy:
9/10/2019
8/10/2018
7/10/2017
6/10/2016
5/10/2015
4/10/2014
3/10/2013
2/10/2012
1/10/2011
Or m-d-yy
9/1/19
8/1/18
etc.
