Did they broadcast the half time shows ?

I thought I remembered them having marching bands and doing wonderful designs on the field.

any one remember that far back?

I grew up in Green Bay back in the 60's. I went to lots of games because I could get in for free. My Dad was connected. I don't remember any halftime shows. They had a small Packer Band that was maybe 30 pieces but nothing beyond that was memorable.

I went to a ton of college games way back when. They ALWAYS broadcast the halftime show. The NFL cheerleaders got lots of screen time back then.

"halftime highlights" by Howard Cosell was the best, as was Howard himself when it came to sports....

How did we tolerate such low resolution in those days?

I played in the pregame show for Super Bowl XVI in Detroit. Michigan Marching Band. IIRC, "Up With People" had bought the halftime show for a few Super Bowls around that time.

I just watched some of it on YouTube. Did you know they had a moment of silence for the people of POLAND before Diana Ross sang the national anthem?

I remember they filled the time with quite a few different things like awards ceremonies, punt, pass & kick competitions or the like.
