Knowing a thing or two about a thing or two |
Well new to me. After 22 years of not riding I took/redid my rider's safety course and picked up a 2011 street glide 3 days ago. The next 2 days did 2 solo rides down to Flamingo Florida. Man I didn't realize how much I missed it. Hray This message has been edited. Last edited by: hray, P226 NSWG P220 W. German P239 SAS gen2 P6 1980 W. German P228 Nickel P365XL M400 SRP

Enjoy! Everyone I know who has/had a Street Glide loves/loved it. How have you been carrying while riding? I carry IWB strong side behind the hip. My Sig doesn't like to stay under my motorcycle jacket, but my j-frame stays discretely under the jacket. I’m working on that and haven’t figured it out yet. Little hot out for my leathers I’ll be open for suggestions. P226 NSWG P220 W. German P239 SAS gen2 P6 1980 W. German P228 Nickel P365XL M400 SRP

When I was riding & when I steal the Indian from my in-law's garage on occasion, I just tuck the tail of my shirt under the belt clip on the holster, seems to work well enough, with the Crossbreed style holsters I have. The Enemy's gate is down.

My jacket is very well ventilated, but has zip in waterproof liner and zip in insulation for other seasons. It has protection in all the right spots including optional CE back pad, but ventilates well. However, it's more of a September thru May jacket. I haven't found anything for hot & humid Houston June through Aug. I ride in a hybrid holster (leather against body and kydex on jean side) as well. My Sig is in a Comp Tac Minotaur MTAC and my j-frame is in a Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0. That is a nice bike, the 103 is a great motor. I would recommend a KlockWerks windshield. I put one on every bike I've had.

Congratulations getting back into riding and you picked a nice bike to do so on. I see it has docking hardware too. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Sig made a great leather jacket with a pistol pocket inside. The jacket was super heavy. I have not seen any for sale in quite a long time. However, HD makes some great jackets too.

Congrats on the beautiful bike and welcome back to riding. Just got back into it myself after a long time away. As to carrying, both my jacket and vest, both leather, have an inside gun pocket. Not as good as holster carry, but at least you have it with you. I do believe they make denim and other textile vests and jackets with gun pockets as well if leather is too hot.

Thank you Very little |
Nice bike, enjoy the ride the FL series are great touring bikes. Used to carry OWB, never lost a firearm, and didn't worry if the shirt came up a bit, not much you can do, most days I carry a LCP in the back pocket holster.

Nice looking Scooter. As info, I dumped out the Harley oil on my FXDL and switched to Red Line full synthetic for Motor/transmission and primary drive. Made motor cooler and quieter shifting. Red Line oil is a little pricey but worth it, IMO. Many motorcycle coats and jackets have an inside pocket large enough for a mid size handgun. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

Nice looking bike, I carry OWB and don't worry about the shirt or jacket blowing up. I also have a vest with pockets for carry. If you make your way up to VA, give me a shout, I've got some great backroads to ride up here. GWbiker's comments on the Redline is a good one. My FLHTK loves that stuff and runs cooler, on the other hand, my old EVO Road King likes conventional oil better. “Government exists to protect us from each other. Thanks for the info. I bought it from dealer whom just did service. Going to put 500 miles on or so dump it and send samples to black stone for testing. Was trying to decide on oil Mobil 1 or redline as I heard that was good and one of the employees there said he was putting it in his primary next time (Redline). Any other tips or things to be on the look out I’m all ears has 25k on it and saw all the records with no big items. It's a TC96 not the TC103 option but has screaming eagle stage 1 with tuning.
